So 50+ conservative males think they know better than doctors on reproduction.

I don't like the idea of late term abortions for the reason of birth control. I don't like abortion but am against making it illegal and I don't buy the conservative line that abortion is murder. That concept makes them crazy.
 
Just out of curiosity...why is it that you say "abortion is a 'bad' thing"?

It is bad a teenage girl get pregenant from having sex with her boyfriend. It is bad when a poor woman get pregenant and conservatives want to cut her food stamps. Abortion should be legal and rare. Funny thing about many of you conservatives. You hate abortion but scream when birth control pills and condoms are handed out. That is why the teen pregency rate is higher in red states than blue states. Both conservatives and liberals are tempted by sex and to think morality alone will keep them from doing it is stupid.

Unless a pregnancy is causing a health concern or is outside what would be expected, abortion is not about health treatment. It is about changing the persons future parental status, that is a very different thing and not something a doctor should have any say in. So unless their is a health reason that is outside the normal pregnancy expectations I could give two ****s for what a doctor says.

A 15 year old girl getting pregnant is a problem my friend. Abortion is the cure. No wonder the teen pregnancy rate is so high in conservative states.

With everything there is an ebb and flow. The law is transient. Whatever society says it is, it is. Doesn't matter to me. I plan on moving to Wicklow, Ireland when I retire. Just direct deposit my SS check and to hell with where the path here ends up going.

Hitler is applauding from Hades to see that Progressives in America have exceeded the genocide he created in Germany in the name of Reproductive Rights. Sitting alongside Hitler, Stalin, Mao Zedong and others Progressives like Wilson are also slapping each other on the back for their part in accomplishing this feat. What's next euthanasia of the Down Syndrome, or Autistic children, let's include those born with disabilities too. Why should Progressives just stop at Reproductive Rights.

Real conservatives and certainly libertarians are pro choice. Smaller government, more personal choice.

OK....killing another human isn't necessarily against the law but we do have rules regarding the circumstances where it is and isn't legal, correct? We also, as a general rule, go to great lengths to insure that lawfully killing another human isn't determined by some arbitrary decision by the killer, correct? Even in cases of abortion it's reasonable and justified to establish rules so that the decision to kill doesn't simply become some arbitrary thing, correct?

I thought you conservatives where focused on the economy last election and did not even want to talk about social issues. Well you don't want to talk about them just ram them down Americans necks. Never mind the fact 70% of Amwericans support the status quo on Roe vs Wade. Late term abortion bans are just an excuse to go after abortion period. I would compromise by making a law that said the doctor had to have a good reason for the late term abortion and get a second opinion. The bottom line is we don't need a bunch of stupid rednecks and Jesus freaks dictating policy on reproductive law.

Yes to all of that, personally I find abortion abhorrent but would never advocate prohibition of it, for that is far worse.

I tend to agree with you but would add that the responsibility to create the rules surrounding this issue, like those for murder, have no place being enacted at the federal level.

I'm not sure what the psychological term for it is but people who do that feel that the agression and rudeness somehow make them stronger or even dominant in a debate. It is a curious phenomenon.
