Shouldn't gun control and other 2nd amendment issues stay in the US Constitution section?

Shouldn't gun control and other 2nd amendment issues stay in the US Constitution section?

Could you elaborate on that just a bit?

I noticed that gun control has its own forum in the new forum section.Guns, gun control and anything related are 2nd amendment issues. So it doesn't make sense giving its own forum section./

OIC.

Dunno, let me look into that...

We will discuss this, but the reason for the change the way it is is because we get a lot of gun control/gun rights threads and the topic warrants it's own section, and we did not want it as a fully visible section.

That will likely be the final spot.

The 'new forums' are highlighted temp spots to help foster new forums while they are still fresh and new. When new forums prove successful, we will move them to a new home.

Can it be called "Gun Talk" or "Gun Issues" or some such, rather than "Gun Control" which suggests a lean?

Does 'Abortion' suggest a lean? We feel that 'Gun Control' is an appropriate name.

No, Abortion doesn't suggest a lean, as it is what the procedure is called.

The Gun Control section is for threads either directly or indirectly about whether guns should be controlled in some fashion. The name does not mean nor is it intended to suggest support for those measures, only that it is the focus of discussions in that section.

In which section do I talk about a new cool firearm I bought?

In which section do I ask a question about different calibers of ammunition?

In which section do I speak about how the 2nd amendment is a right, not to be infringed upon (ie not to be controlled)?

The third example would go in the new section. The first two, depending, might go in Leisure Activities or off topic.

Nah, just won't put them anywhere. Have a lovely evening.

I noticed the dopey named forum in the basement.......instead of the cool name I proposed. I get it...."Not invented here".

Not sure what you're talking about regarding the name, but if you want to post specific questions in that particular forum, perhaps we can answer in detail. I'm not sure this is really the place to discuss that particular forum, though.

This doesn't pertain to Gun Control, but I don't want to make a separate thread. I just wanted to say that I had my reservations about the new forum set-up, but I honestly like it a lot. It seems sleeker, less overwhelming, and easier to use. There are a couple of subforums that seem out-of-place... "Health" under "General Politics"... but overall good job! I think it will be less intimidating for forum noobies to navigate as well.

Work-in-progress as always. :)

I do agree, it seem much less intimidating now.

'Health Care' is what's under GPD. And it may not have been political 10 years ago, but it sure as hell is now. :D
