I prefer this Boo to the normal Boo. Not the voting so much, but the civility.
I may disagre with Romney on a few things, but this is not one of them. I have voted republican in the past.
It's possible. I'm not opposed to voting for the main party candidates if they have someone very good up for running. They normally don't though. For Romney, I still don't really have a good sense of him. But if he's serious about separating out personal religion from the job of a politician, I think that's a great step to start at. He could be very good, but as I said I have a hard time getting proper sense of his platform and goals.
Funny how it's only okay to ask Republicans about their religious beliefs and churches.Romney: 'If You Want to Learn More About My Church, Talk to My Church' - The Note
What do you think? Do you believe him when he says he wants to keep his religion and his job separate?
What are you even saying? Did you forget about Obama and Kennedy that quickly?Funny how it's only okay to ask Republicans about their religious beliefs and churches.

yeah. i'm wondering how big of an issue the liberals will make of this if he gets the nomination. when hannity and
and the other "conservative" pundits starting smashing obama for spending 20 years in a black nationalist, anti-American
church.........they spoke right up and defended his religious beliefs....no matter how psycho they were.
will they do the same for romney and mormonism?
highly doubtful.

You're missing one important part of the equation. Hannity wasn't blasting Obama because of what church he belonged to, he was blasting Obama because of the political party he belonged to. If Obama had belonged to the "right" party, Hannity would have been falling all over himself defending him.
You're right that liberals won't defend Romney, because he's not one of them. In Washington politics, the question isn't "right or wrong." It's "Democrat or Republican?"
And BTW...isnt Obama a Christian that has spoken for the sanctity of heterosexual marriage?
Yeah, Obama and Romney have the same position on gay marriage: it's between a man and a woman. However, I don't think Obama has ever been too excited about DOMA.He was an administrator at the highest level of the state of Massachusetts. Simple test...did his religion come into play as governor? Was he an effective administrator?
(asked from the perspective of one who will NOT be voting for him)
And BTW...isnt Obama a Christian that has spoken for the sanctity of heterosexual marriage? Why are people so hypocritical about their concerns over religious republicans?
Depends on who you ask. Some people will tell you he's a "Fundamentalist Muslim Communist." (Even though it's not possible to be both...)

Well, he supported a ban on same-sex marriage, but supported civil unions. He was pro-choice as governor, but has now had a "change of heart" is passionately pro-life.Did his religion come into play as governor?

This thread is making me think of Rick Perry and his day of prayer.
Yeah, he does seem to change a lot. His stance on marriage hardened during his governorship as well. I'm interested to see what he says in debates about that because he fashions himself as a somewhat moderate, practical politician, but I could see him becoming something completely different once he gets the position.Thats why I wouldnt vote for him on a bet. It has nothing to do with his religion (hey...democrats...Harry Reid is a Mormon...where is the outrage?). I'm only concerned that his positions change based on what is required to win election.
That Clinton guy regularly met with religious leaders and supported the national prayer breakfast 8 straight years! Can you believe it? Damn republicans!
