Who in the hell pays $350 for a bottle of wine which basically you are just renting for maybe an hour then pissing down the urinal.
There is nothing wrong about it, however he's advocating cutting the future benefits of seniors, so I don't think the episode puts him in a very good light with them. Whether or not you think he's a hypocrite, it will look that way to many voters. Count on it.Wait! Don't tell me....you think there is something wrong with drinking an expensive wine. Am I right? Did I guess it?
Was this privately paid for? Or was this taxpayer dollars? If privately paid for then why does anyone think this is anyone's business but Ryan's?
Awesome story. "Susan Feinberg, an associate business professor at Rutgers, and all around busy-body..."
What a piece of trash she is. She gets a bit drunk, creates a scene and becomes a liberal sensation on a show no one even watches.
Liberals really are amazing, complicated, animals, aren't they?

What it shows is how far removed politicians are from the rest of the country. This goes back to John Edwards' $400 haircut or Cindy McCain wearing a $300,000 outfit to the convention.
These people don't have a clue really how the rest of this country lives. And yes, all these costs were not paid by the taxpayers but most likely those friendly lobbyist.

I think he's doing exactly what his voters wanted him to do.
Other people being an idiot is not an excuse to be an idiot.
You mean as silly as Michele Obama eating a burger or the Obama's going out to a romantic dinner in New York? Of course it is silly, but that is how low politics have gotten in the US... not to mention there is a difference... Sure Michele is leading the charge for healthy eating, and then she eats a burger.. so what.. the burger cost like a buck. Sure the Obama's are suppose to be the "leading light" of the nation, but as long as they use their own money for their romantic dinners and dont go around demanding that the American people cut food budgets and not going out and so on... the I have no problem with them going out and even spending 400 dollars on a bottle of wine!. The Obama's are not part of the party of supposed fiscal responsibility and leading the discussion on gutting government spending for the least well off while lowering taxes on the rich and corporations... Ryan is.... so yes he is a grade 1 hypocrite even if he paid for it himself. Fiscal responsibility starts with personal responsibility, and blowing a few weeks food allowance for a poor family on a bottle of wine is disgusting to say the least considering who is doing it. It reminds me of Marie Antoinette... "let them eat cake"...
Wine is nasty, to me, but if you have the money who cares how you spend it.
Hmmm. I didn't say they were related, but I've seen enough political ads in my life to know this could be used against him. I can see the ads in my head. "Rep. Ryan wants to cut you Medicare, while he drinks $350 a bottle wine at posh DC restaurant."Two unrelated things are unrelated. Stop making liberals look foolish.
Rep. Ryan wants to cut the benefits of future seniors, but he caught helping to consume not one but two bottles of $350 Jayer-Gilles 2004 Echezeaux Grand Cru wine.

 I've spent a couple of hundred on a bottle of wine in a restaurant before.
pbrauer, what was your opinion of the Kennedy's? John Kerry? I'm pretty sure if I were to look up the list of millionaires who spend this kind of money on consumer goods and who are also Congressional Democrats who claim to be 'for the poor" etc. the list would be lengthy...
This seems like a silly thing to bitch about Rep Ryan over. Especially if he paid for it himself.
It's class warfare masturbation. Of course, Ryan is on the "wrong" side, so his enjoying good things in life is "hypocritical", if Ryan were a Democrat this thread would never have been posted.

"It was my birthday, and I'd had half a bottle of great wine with dinner," she wrote in an e-mail to TPM. "I wasn't drunk, but I was certainly emboldened to speak my mind."
Thats why your a teaparty cheerleaderthat said it all lol
I see. The act of drinking a glass of expensive wine is okay. But don't do it while saving social security. So there go. Again. For you every solution involves raising taxes. If Ryan was serious about cutting the deficit and debt, he'd raise taxes. . .
I am a retired Army officer. I love the Marines. You are a great example of why. dude. i'm a Sergeant in the Marines. (E-5). Our payscales are somewhat publicly available.
Both Kennedy and John Kerry were/are wealthy people, plus I don't think they wanted to take money from elderly low income people. But that's precisely what today's GOP wants to do. For all the rhetoric about income redistribution, the GOP is trying to strip the benefits of lower income people and giving it to the high income earners. Rep. Paul Ryan drinking $350 wine is a symbol of it. I've spent a couple of hundred on a bottle of wine in a restaurant before.
