Religion Simplified

Straw man argument.

When was the last time a religious person said they could fly?

James 1:27

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Christian Religion Simplified

"Jesus of Nazareth was raised from the dead" "Prove it" "You prove he wasn't!"

Religion simplified: things exist, therefore God created them.

What happened to doing that?
Most catholics do.

I don't know what in God's name Protestants are doing, not to mention the crazy evangelists.. We have like 380,000 churches in the USA how come homeless people don't say there?

"But in “the stern encounter”, in the moral struggle, religion is not simply a weapon- it is the essence of the struggle itself. The Communist rulers do not fear the phraseology of religion, or the ceremonies and churches and denomination organizations. On the contrary, they leave no stone unturned in seeking to turn these aspects of religion to their own advantage and to use the trappings of religion in order to cement the obedience of their people. What they fear is the profound consequences of a religion that is lived and not merely acknowledged. They fear especially man’s response to spiritual and ethical stimuli, not merely material. A society which seeks to make the worship of the State the ultimate objective of life cannot permit a higher loyalty, a faith in God, a belief in a religion that elevates the individual, acknowledges his true value and teaches him devotion and responsibility to something beyond the here and now. The communist fear Christianity more as a way of life than as a weapon. In short, there is room in a totalitarian system for churches- but there is no room for God. The claim of the State must be total, and no other loyalty, and no other philosophy of life can be tolerated." - John F. Kennedy

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Spoken in the Episcopalian Church of my youth, just before they passed the plate.

A rabbi, a priest, and a minister are discussing what they do with donations to their respective religious organizations.
The minister says that he draws a circle on the floor, throws the money up in the air, and whatever lands in the circle, he gives to God, and whatever lands outside the circle, he keeps.
The priest uses a similar method. He draws the circle, but whatever lands outside the circle, he gives to God, and whatever lands inside, he keeps.
The rabbi has a slightly different method of dividing the money. He throws all the money up in the air. Whatever God wants, he keeps...

Atheism simplified:

"Confucius had more than a thousand apprentices". It's history.
"The Jews met with God". It's not true.

It's called an analogy:

Atheism simplified:

"Confucius had more than a thousand apprentices". It's history.
"The Jews met with God". It's not true.
The claim from confucious is a claim. It might be history, but it is not really proven. On the other hand, it is plausible, because we can get people who have 1000 apprentices if we want.

the Jews met with God is less feasible, since God can not be shown to exist. That lowers the plausibility

OTOH, many have proven that submitting to God's guidance is the best way to live...
Where have they 'proven' that?

No they haven't. They just claim it to be so

And religious institutions and communities are hotbeds of abuse

Atheists form a small minority of the prison population Btw - so much for "guidance" huh ?

I am not talking about those who serve God in name only but the ones who live it daily...

Like the Amish community in Pennsylvania ?

Or Catholic priests abusing children under their care:
