Progressive Leftists Win: Then What?

'Those stupid progressives and their Defund the Police Rhetoric!' (that movement WON Biden the election in 2020

You've completely wrecked any hope for a rational debate.
"Defund the Police" is without a doubt the stupidest slogan ever crafted.

Never mind "what it REALLY means" to this or that group or to this or that individual.
From a marketing standpoint it almost COST Democrats the White House AND it's one of the reasons Senate is effectively deadlocked at 50-50.

Yes, because it offends the sensibilities of affluent whites, which the police are there to protect, and who are afraid of having a real conversation about race and policing. Meanwhile the momentum behind his movement literally won Biden the White House and gave Democrats control of Congress.

Democrats have given up on police reform, and if they lose, it's 100% on the shoulders of Democratic leadership. Not Jimmy Dore or Tulsi Gabbard.

I'm the first one to be in favor of "fix the police, reform the police, reboot the police, reimagine policing"...the slogan itself --- DEFUND the Police is offensive to ANYONE who
wants competent and rational law enforcement, because it SUGGESTS getting rid of policing altogether, and it is disingenuous to suggest that only affluent white people are offended by it
because the numbers are in from EVERY community.

The slogan "Defund the Police" is a fail.

While some believe defunding the police is a call to get rid of law enforcement completely, many activists behind the slogan intended to make a more nuanced argument for police budgets to be steered toward community social programs so officers were less often required to take on roles better suited to social workers.

Then MAKE a more nuanced argument.
You appear unable to view the issue of police reform BEYOND idiotic slogans.

We are not talking about the protests, we are not talking about George Floyd, we are not talking about anything other than the actual SLOGAN ITSELF.
From a marketing standpoint, the slogan did DAMAGE to Democratic campaigns...not because affluent white people were offended but because most people
do not want to do what the slogan appears to suggest. They want cops to do their jobs properly, that's all.

Shouldn't the onus be on the Democrats to provide a better slogan, not the activists who enable Democrats to win elections? Why are you trying to blame the activists and not the people are currently FAILING UTTERLY to provide any policing reform?

And yes, we are DEFINITELY talking about George Floyd protests. There is no separation, the slogan CAME FROM THAT MOVEMENT. Putting on African garb and kneeling is theatre for people like you who don't want to address the issue.
