They can estimate how much mail can be processed. They can estimate how much mail will be received. They can then compare the two figures. They can then say whether or not they can guarantee the mail will be delivered in time, or not.

They may not know with absolute certainty, but they don't need absolute certainty to make a judgment.

And with something as important as voting, why make things MORE difficult than it already is?

Those people are so prescient they know that the USPS will not be able to handle the flood of ballots delivered to the state election offices. What they don't understand is that it is up to the state election officials to get the ballots out to the voters early enough so that the ballots make it in on time.
It is not up to Trump or to DeJoy to make that happen.

BTW... I don't trust what trump says which is why I watch what he does.
The election with mail in ballot voting will have mail in ballots mailed in and then counted. That's how it will work so long as they stop removing sorting machines and drop boxes and allow overtime for delivery.
