Flaunting that education I see.Crack open your grammar book and look up what an adverbial phrase means in a sentence. It's not negation.

You said especially white Christians. That means that they are more likely to play the victim card than black Christians. It's not negation but "especially" means something. Doesn't it?

Sure it is. They say we are open and non-Christians apply or just pick up another shift. Easy.Sure. That's not an option at CF
Are you familiar with Chick Filet and why they are not open Sunday?Sure it is. They say we are open and non-Christians apply or just pick up another shift. Easy.
Those that do not want to work Sunday continue to not work Sunday
As I see it, this is akin, although not exactly like, the issue with Kim Davis. The facility is government owned, and as such the religious practices of those under the management of the government are set aside. There is nothing that requires Chick-fil-a to be a part of that facility, but should they choose to be then they set aside, for those specific facilities, their religious practices. As long as they are not being forced into not observing their practice outside the government owned facility, then it is no different from anyone and anything else working for the government.
I have never eaten there but it is so their employees can have a day of rest if they want. i.e. Religion. Are you familiar with Chick Filet and why they are not open Sunday?
That goes against the CEO's principles. That is why they can hire People Who Do Not Want To Take Sunday Off to work Sunday's. Easy.
So what? He can take off Sunday's.That goes against the CEO's principles.
I talked to my wife a bit about this thing and she had an interesting perspective.
She was raised in the church while I was raised by parents who continue to be rather militant atheists. She explained that there are Christians who feel and understand their faith through cultural attachment tokens like chick fil a’s hours and she suggested that I may be missing this context due to my coming into Christianity through a very different path (and my general introversion that keeps me from caring about cultural tokens much in general).
I can’t say I fully understand her point but she and I will talk about this more. There seems to be some level of emotional reasoning that I am abstracting away.
I am not sure what this means as we are discussing a business, not the church.Certainly that is true - and it is just as true for those who are "militantly" opposed to the Church, and who therefore seek to attack those tokens, even to their own detriment.
Cool..So what? He can take off Sunday's.
Originally it was allegedly so families could spend time together and worship if they chose. If the closure was not based on Christian belief then they could have picked another day to close. The Sunday closure doesn't take into account that other religions worship on days other than Sundays. Since Chik-fil-A has, gasp, become WOKE and increased the diversity of their workforce, the closed on Sunday excuse as a non-Christian based decision doesn't fly.Are you familiar with Chick Filet and why they are not open Sunday?

Interesting take but it explains why people tend to dig into cultural expressions of faith rather than faith a lot of times.Well, as you said, it's a token. People want to hate Chik Fil A because it's founders were open about their faith, and didn't alter their faith when society's views of sexuality changed. So, it becomes a target, a focus of people's general ire at the absolute effrontrey of others for the sin of Being Different, especially in a way they connect to moral condemnation of something they don't condemn.
Tokens get attacked as well as defended out of proportion to their role. The baker in Colorado, for example, is constantly sued and harassed, and will be for the rest of his life, because he refuses to change his faith, even when that offends others, and as a result of timing and happenstance, became a token for Christians who refuse to do so.
I am 5th All-Time and 1st among active members... Not a big deal, I just looked it up.Cool..
BTW- You might have the highest post count on DP?
Still waiting for an answer. Do you really think that white ChristiansChristians, especially white ones, are always playing the victim card

Agreed.Years ago Washington state kicked Ivan’s clam chowder restaurant out of SeaTac airport because it’s owned by the family of the original founder who was white Swedish guy. Ivars is a Seattle institution but it’s local roots weren’t enough, they kicked Ivars out for a competing seafood restaurant because this other restaurant like sold the bare minimum amount of shares necessary to some black chick to qualify as a “minority owned business” or some nonsense.
The left pretty openly involves themselves in bigoted displays towards others in government policy.
i pondered the same questionI think it will apply to businesses only doing business on the rest stops on Nys Truway...
On 1 hand i can understand why the state would want businesses to stay open 7 days a week on the Truway.. On the other hand I have no idea why the state would give a permit to a business to operate on the Truway that they know isn't open on Sunday's...
It’s clearly intended to only target chick fil Ai pondered the same question
my speculation is that this is a procurement issue
the government wants to solicit proposals/bids from a variety of food vendors to serve the auto-traveling public
they appear to now want to assure that these vendors are open to the public 7 days per week
if the law passes, the contracting officials would then have a legal justification for compelling its contracted restaurants to be available to the public 7 days per week
my further speculation is they cannot now place in the statement of work that the contracted businesses are required to be open to the public throughtout the week
this legislation would apply justification to the contracting change
chickfila and any other concern not wanting to have their state contracted establishments open to the public throught the week will have a decision to make
giving the appearance this is a religion driven bill gives chickfila a bogus rationale to gin up the evangelicals to rise up in opposition
i believe the OP exhibits that
what makes that clear? It’s clearly intended to only target chick fil A
