New York Bill to force Chick-Filet to stay open on Sunday's

It's not NYC. Unless you're one of those people that when someone mentions NY, you automatically think NYC. If so, then you be you.
Admittedly...I kinda do.

There was no issue with this on New York thruway for 70 years ...

I grew up in upstate New York (Lake Champlain/Lake George area), you know why there was no problem with this for 70 years.

Because in the old days there were "rest areas". Places where you could pull off, take a piss/dump in a small brick building (or maybe a porta potty if the plumbing was out - not unusual) that if you were LUCKY was clean. Then maybe a covered area with a couple of vending machines. Maybe some picnic tables out back.

The redesigned Service Plazas have gas, clean rest rooms, hot food and a convenience store for other needs. Seating out of the weather. Form my understanding and looking at photos they also may have information centers with state tourism information for travelers.

Did not know that. Thank you

So do you suppose CF imposes rules and restrictions on its franchisees? I'm betting so.

I wager the majority of the public complaints come from travelers who pass through there more than just on Sundays. Do they not realize on the other travel days, when they eat at CF, will no longer be available once they pull out of the market?

So we find they will by consequence have to eat at Burger King or whatever other establishment is at the facility instead of CF like they usually do when traveling on the other 6 days of the week.

So wouldn't it be more logical to give up CF on 1 day of the week (Sunday) say than forever?

Yes, just as with any franchise the individual business is limited by corporate rules.

My.point is that rules are regularly applied to businesses. CF has theirs, the State of NY theirs. One is free to accept or reject those rules.....

I'm 100% certain they do...Ive never seen a CFA franchise open on Sundays...even in Airports from what I understand. The only time Ive ever seen that broken was during a relief effort. Which pretty much guarantees no Chik Fil A franchises along the state roadways...be they in NYC or the rest of the state.

So far the discussion is the mechanics of the law. They are not in dispute.

What needs discussed is what's the intent behind the law? I argue its a way to punish Christianity in the name of States rights to raise revenue via taxation.
It is about the fact the people who travel on Sunday get hungry too. Are you denying that? Do you want to deny services to travelers on religious grounds? Do you want to punish them for traveling on Sunday? The State is simply saying you cannot have a contract with them for a travel facility if you won't feed people on Sunday.

LOL You mean wouldn't it be peachy if people stopped traveling on Sunday due to CF's religious beliefs. That is religious discrimination. It makes sense to give contracts for FOOD to people that actually serve food everyday. Traveling on Sunday is not a sin to most of us and CF could make an exception in this case if they want State contracts.

It certainly is persecution.

There was no issue with this on New York thruway for 70 years then suddenly when a contract is signed with CfA after review and bidding process by the thruway authority now we have to impose rules to stop CfA.

The democrats openly use public contract bidding as a form of social engineering
Social engineering and virtue signaling to no one else but their clan of social justice warriors.

Lets call this what it is. And coming from NY it is of no surprise.

This is a straight up attack on God and Christianity. They can wrap it and call it what they want, but it is an attack.

Lindsay Graham says he will fight to protect CF's rights.

Can a state set a private business's open/closing times? I doubt it.

And considering the mess they are dealing with in regards to migrants in the state, is this really the best use of their time?

It makes sense to require that food servers serve food everyday. We live in a secular nation and most of us still travel on Sunday. Jewish deli's have no problem being open on Saturday. If CF wants these contracts they could make an exception.

Attack on God? Wow. I bet God is grateful to the right for defending Her.
How will She show her gratitude?

Shocking revelation. He is gay and an avid LGBTQPI"OQJOFKSFJ:DNFOI"PWPL???+ advocate.

but his legislation has NOTHING to do with Chik Fil A...........

Oh yeah I’m sure the thruway is full of starving people who just need a classic chicken sandwich from CfA. Those rest stops are like the border at Tijuana full of starving kids trying to sell you gum. Evil Dan Cathy just won’t feed them 🙄

🙄
Oh yeah I’m sure the CfA is such a poorly run, starving business who just need to operate within this government-given special privilege area. 🙄

They won a contract under whatever the rules are now.

Years ago Washington state kicked Ivan’s clam chowder restaurant out of SeaTac airport because it’s owned by the family of the original founder who was white Swedish guy. Ivars is a Seattle institution but it’s local roots weren’t enough, they kicked Ivars out for a competing seafood restaurant because this other restaurant like sold the bare minimum amount of shares necessary to some black chick to qualify as a “minority owned business” or some nonsense.

The left pretty openly involves themselves in bigoted displays towards others in government policy.

You don't think that there are tons of non-Christians out there who would love to work on Sunday?

Bah! Christians, especially white ones, are always playing the victim card.
I don't understand. White Christians play the victim card and Black Christians do not play the victim card?

Crack open your grammar book and look up what an adverbial phrase means in a sentence. It's not negation.

You said especially white Christians. That means that they are more likely to play the victim card than black Christians. It's not negation but "especially" means something. Doesn't it?

Sure. That's not an option at CF
