They're going to do whatever they want anyway. Many single mothers are inherently irresponsible, or they wouldn't be single mothers. If someone like that gets pregnant, they should get an abortion, because it's not a good life for a child.

Must be from all the expensive liberal Dept. of Ed. public school system. It's working out so well, lol. Especially in poor areas in our cities where most are graduated without having the ability to add 7 plus 14 without the use of their fingers. Keep them poor and uneducated to keep their vote.....such class and care for the welfare of our children.

Not at all. Educating women is extremely important. The higher level of education a woman has, the less likely she is to have children. This is a good thing.

Indeed - the massive failure of the U.S. Dept. of Education is the cause of many societies problems.
And all the left is interested in - is hiding the damage by making it easier to graduate, in fact it is hard to NOT graduate - all you have to do is occupy a chair.

Everyone already has easy access to a variety of ways to prevent pregnancy. Birth control pills are completely free for practically everyone. FREE.

But irresponsible people don't use those things, that's my point. That's why we need abortion on demand, so that we can fix the problems caused by irresponsible people, before they become someone else's problem to deal with.

My point is taxpayers should not subsidize irresponsibility.
You answer is to take money from the responsible to give to the irresponsible. - But that is the absolute foundation of the current Democrat Party.

I do believe that contraception should be free - it is.
The responsible couldn't make it any easier for the irresponsible to take measures to prevent pregnancy.
But - instead, they have the Democrat Party ensuring them that no matter how many bad choices they make - they will use other people's money to clean up the mess.
Democrats worked hard to build a broad base of irresponsible people, by providing them everything they need to be lazy, stupid and amoral.

I don't see how banning abortion solves any of that though. All it does is create a bunch more babies born to irresponsible people that the rest of us are going to have to take care of.

Loved the reference to Dune. As a young person I read a ton of science fiction, Dune is a top ten book.

Yeah, I've always enjoyed it, I really loved the Lynch movie too...a touchstone for me. I've read the series probably 5 times through, and I fortunately forget details after a few years and can still enjoy it.
I only recently read more about the author. He was older, had a career in politics! He built a world to share his wisdom about how the world works having seen it as his career from the inside.
Reading it again maybe 3 years ago, I read it almost entirely as political commentary, some of it's passages looked liked they were written literally about today's political environment.
OK I'll stop ;)
