I think most parents (note: "parents" not mother, not father, parents) circumcised their boys because almost all other boys were also circumcised. It was not something people thought very long about. In retrospect maybe boys should be allowed to decide for themselves.

I do! At 3, clear memories of the campground the summer I turned 3 and my cousin's future husband, who I thought was a cowboy. I also remember my birthday party that summer.

Minors dont generally get "my body, my choice," do they? That's what their parents are responsible for. What is the abuse here?

No. I feel that I've sufficiently invalidated it. If you feel you need to start a thread on it, feel free. I've seen it before, it's mostly opinion and cultural. It does not particularly interest me. When relevant, I would have discussed it with a partner...not an infant :D

From what? I was circumcised and my penis has never gotten sick. His body, his choice but that logic from Republicans doesn't seem to apply to women for some reason or other?

Circumcision rates have been declining for the past 2 decades.

The reason so many people circumcised is typically either religious or “normalcy” meaning if the father was circumcised, they automatically just circumcised the son.

There is very little medical cause for it.

But there is also no correlation between the two medical procedures. And no need to legislate either.
