Michele Bachmann’s Entrance On Jimmy Fallon? The Fishbone Song ‘Lyin’ Ass Bitch’

I just figure she or her people should have done a little homework before she agreed to be on the show and either mandate that her song be something respectful or at least allow her to pick the song. Personal responsibility is definitely important in the picture here.

It isn't like the band plays the same music every night. It is well known that they give a different intro song for every guest on the show (at least for those who know about the show, for the rest, it only takes a quick google search to find this out) and that song relates to their feelings on the person. It is her PR people's responsibility to think of these things.

It's a late night talk show for goodness sake, not a serious political debate or a news show.

So Bachmann and her people are at fault here, not Fallon, his band, or the show.... And you have no problem at all with a presidential candidate being ambushed like that and treated with such disrespect.

Geez... Am I the only one that believes civility, respect and common decency are values worth defending and saving?

but you don't believe that, grim. you only care about civility if the incivility is directed at a person you deem worthy. hypocrisy is your first, middle and last name.

Pretty much. For her, its unpaid campaign advertising, or at the least, unpaid book advertising. If she wants to be protected from negativity such as that song, then she should become a better judge of what appearances would be good for her and which ones not so much. Or at least hire the right people to do it for her.

All in all though, it isn't like most people didn't hold that belief about her to begin with, especially those who would be watching Jimmy Fallon or know what that song was. She didn't even know what the song was they were playing. (Honestly though, I think "Crazy Bitch" is a lot more accurate. I don't really recall too much about her lying, but she has plenty of past evidence of being crazy.) The song isn't causing disrespect and she is probably getting more free publicity from them playing that song than she would have gotten with something more tame. And judging from her encounter with Kathy Griffin, I think she likes the attention, even if it is negative.

All this over a song, Oy Vey:roll:

But I don't host a network talk show seen nationwide by million of people.

Let me tell you something... I would be just as pissed if something like that were done to Hillary or the first lady. This isn't about politics, it's about class, respect and moral standards. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who defends or dismisses this kind of crap, is contributing to the moral decline of American society.

So you have no problem with Fallon showing such blatant disrespect for a presidential candidate?

What happened to the days when TV talk shows treated candidates with respect, like Johnny Carson, Mike Douglass and Dick Cavett used to? I guess this is the new progressive America, so we better get used to the low moral standards and lack of class that comes with it.

You don't have respect for the actual president. Why should you care if a presidential candidate gets made fun of?

(and I don't think any of those guys ran the Late Late Show)

did you have any problem with people booing michelle obama?

Oh Grim you are too much! :lamo :lamo :lamo

Check...and mate!

Granted, the FLOTUS isn't running for President, but if you're going to call-out folks for their bad behavior on one end, you'd better be willing to call out folks for their foolishness and biasness the other way as well.

EDIT: I didn't you post here...

...so, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. But I do have to wonder if you truly give leaniency as you claim you do based on your pattern of issuing anti-Obama rant? Is Your Star right or have we pegged you wrong?

Was it a dick thing to do? Yeah. Should Bachmann have known better to go on a late late night show like this? Yeah.

A. Your thoughts on the choice of music?

B. Attack the victim... Nice.

Are you trying to get the "victim" pity votes?

In Bachmann's case, they are trying to get the Frankenstein vote because there isn't a shot in hell of her getting the nomination unless the dead come back to life.

I'm a lil' behind times so I just want to know... why do we hate Michelle Bachmann again?

You seemed to have missed more than just that one post of mine:

did you have any problem with people booing michelle obama?

BIG TIME... I watched that happen live, and it really pissed me off. I felt so bad for her when that happened, and at the same time was very pissed that NASCAR fans, which I happen to be, could be so rude and classless. That wasn't a political event, it was a sporting event and she should have been treated with respect, especially since she was there in support of charity organization.

That's the same way I feel about what Fallon did to Bachman last night. It's classless, rude and totally uncalled for.

A quick review of Grim17's most recent posts would suggest he has not. Nonetheless, I will give him credit where credit is due. Atleast he voiced his displeasure here, and that's good enough for me.

Ok... feel free to talk about me til the cows come home, but I thought it was funny. The same way I think most jokes that are made on Jimmy Fallon, Jay Leno and David Letterman (although I dont really care for Letterman) are. Its like watching Saturday Night Live.... its expected. You KNOW tuning into those shows that celebritys and politicians alike will be made fun of or poked fun at. It is what it is. If people are so sensetive about it.... they shouldnt watch those shows or go on them. (dang.... does that make me a callous ass?)

This x 10. This speaks volumes to the quality of politicians and 'leaders' that they feel the need to appear on shows like this.

A comedian ragged on a politician?

ZOMFG!

Why isn't this on the front page of Google and getting 24 hour coverage on the networks?

Jimmy Fallon blatantly disrespects pretty much everybody.

What are your feelings about "Barack the Magic Negro?" Meaning Rush's song. Pretty disrespectful towards the President of the United States, don't you think?

Agreed. But the President of the United States thinks late-night shows are important, so no wonder wannabes would too.
