Ladies.... A Little Consistancy if You Please

Tigger's posts are so full of contradictions I am now wondering if he simply isn't typing up random craziness just to get a rise out of people. Or perhaps he is that convoluted in his thought process that there is no real help to be offered at this time. Regardless, I am done with any suggestions or thoughts on any of his situations, as they don't even seem to have any connection to reality (of even most hardline traditionalists). Any future posts I make on any of his threads will not be directed to him. So no one please interpret any response by me to be so.

So what I hear you telling me is this. We agree as far as.... couples making decisions together and putting up a united front.... you just go further and believe that if I were to say anything that we had not agreed upon in a public forum, I would deserve to be punished for that. And Further, in that, if I disagree on something with my husband, that I should keep my mouth shut and not speak on it because what my husband believes and says is the final word. correct??

I wouldn't say that any speech in public would be a punishable offense, but on certain topics (like politics), yes. Again, in terms of the disagreement, that's something to bring to his attention politely, in a private moment and to accept whatever his determination is on the topic after having provided your insight into the topic. You are there to advise privately, not publicly.

Another question or situation occured to me while reading your last post... and you may not really be able to answer this one since youve not really been in the situation...... but if things did progress with the current woman you are with... if you two got married and her kids and her came to live with you.... How would you handle things as far as the children???? What I mean is this.... if you two get married, you by proxy would be their Dad but they already have fathers. What would happen if say her and the father agreed together on something concerning the child that you disagreed with?

If we were to be married, only one of them would be coming with us; the 12 year old (as of this coming January). The others are older 16+ and in the custody of her ex-husband. I would expect that her daughter would respect my authority but her mother would be the primary decision maker on what should/shouldn't be done in regard to her on a day-to-day basis.

I dont think hes typing ramdom craziness or trying to get a rise out of anyone... I think Tigger has taken an "ideal" or a "way of life" (a biblical way of life, the wife being the helpmate, the husband being the head of the family, and the spare the rod spoil the child thing) and totally made it into something it was not intended to be. Its just a very hardline, fundamentalist point of view. (and one that I, nor very many others, dont buy into). These are what he truthfully believes. Tiggers problem is that he is sooooo fundamentalist and hard and unbending in his views on life, love and humanity, that he isnt really willing to truly listen to what others have to say on any subject and take their points of view into consideration.... and that pisses a lot of people off. It is also the reason why Tigger will continue to be alone in this world... because there isnt another person on this planet who views the world and things EXACTLY like he or anyone else does... relationships are about compromise and sacrifice and love..... and I dont think he truly knows the meaning of any of the three.

But Tigger, compromise is fundamental in relating to others. You HAVE to compromise... its not a bad word or a horrible thing. It doesnt necessarily mean that you have to give up what you believe in your core... it simply means that in order to have a fulfilling, meaningful relationship with another human being there HAS to be times that you agree to disagree or that you give in on some of the little things. It is what a relationship IS. If you never compromise with another human being to make a relationship stronger and better, then you might as well just get a dog. You cant treat human beings... women .... like animals. God didnt make you a partner so that you could RULE them...... thats what he put animals on the planet for.

The reason for that is that women were not meant to LEAD in society. It's that simple.

What makes that relationship strong is the commonality of viewpoint of the two individuals.

That is also very true; and since I prefer Morality and Spirituality over the falseness of Religion, that does make it very difficult for me to find someone with a similar mindset. I've had people suggest any number of religious faiths that might suit my needs (Amish, Mennonite, Islamic, etc...) but that's not a path I'm willing to travel. I have seen the falseness of Religion and the reliance on "God" enough to know that it's not for me.

With something like what I have all you can do is treat the symptoms. You cannot cure the root cause. I take eye drops for my glaucoma. I've had surgery on both eyes (in college). I spent 11 years on a medication called phenobarbitol for the seizure I had at age 4. All the symptoms have been dealt with, but the cause cannot be. It's too extensive, too dark, and covers too wide of an area.
