Labour MP Jo Cox in critical condition after being shot and stabbed

Maybe that's why our crime rate isn't as high as the UK's. Maybe your criminal culture could be cured with some actual punishment.

Yours hasn't. When you lock up more of your population than anyone else, including China, there must be more criminals in it.

Don't go shoving logic at people, it confuses them.

Well, some anyway.

Well, let's say one.

This is really a terrible argument. Similarly:

People drive drunk so drunk driving laws don't do any good.
People murder, so murder laws don't do any good.
People rape, so rape laws don't do any good.

Etc.....

And no one anywhere expects that gun laws, like any other laws, eliminate 100% of the bad behavior. The goal is to reduce the bad behavior, lessen the risk, etc. A single gun death does actually nothing to prove or not prove whether or not gun laws work.

Your analogy is horrible. There is no Amendment to drive drunk. There is no Amendment to murder. There is no Amendment to rape.

There's no way around accidents.

Number one, training and number two proper storage and number three don't leave dangerous weapons near where children can get them.

Other countries do better at making sure their kids aren't shooting each other or family members in anywhere near the same numbers you have.

The number one Miller in America is auto accidents. There's plenty of training involved in getting a driver's license.

China sentences people to death for drunk driving and drug use.

Whether there is an "amendment" or not is irrelevant to the point. If the person had made an argument based on Constitutional rights, I'd have addressed that argument. He instead said, "An abundance of gun control [in the UK] didn't do any good." That comment was getting to the effectiveness of gun control in the UK, not the constitutionality of 'gun control' in the U.S., and the incident in fact proves exactly nothing about whether or not 'gun control' works or not, same way any ONE murder doesn't prove laws against murder do not "do any good." Etc...

Pure nonsense. Of course there are lots of ways around "accidents" involving kids and guns, and adults and guns.

You're giving responsible gun owners a bad name with that kind of comment. Are you secretly working for one of the Brady foundations or something similar? If not, you should be as that mind set is a compelling argument for gun licensing and control.

Auto accidents are the number one killer.

England has a vast criminal culture.

Lol, what? England has high crime? Said by an American?!? Where we have East St. Louis, Flint, Detroit, Chicago, Camden, Stockton, Baltimore, Oakland ...

ROFL, England is sunshine and roses compared to us.

Well actually I believe it's Miller Lite. But you could also say Coors Lite, because it's technically the same company though a different brand.

England's overall crime rate is three times higher than The United States.

We have twice as many citizens,

No you have six times the citizens

not to,mention over 10 million illegals, with more arriving, everyday. England would collapse with all these illegals.
No we have 300,000 immigrants per annum most of whom are completely legal ,here to work and who's skills benefit our economy hugely

Actually, no. England is an incredibly dangerous place if you don't know where you're going.

300,000 illegal aliens?

Only if you compare apples to watermelons. Apples to apples, the crime rate is probably not all that different, and the murder rate is FAR higher in the U.S. than in England - roughly 4-1. I'd cite the data for the overall crime rate, but you've seen the link previously and ignored it.

300,000 illegal aliens?

What does the number of "illegal aliens" have to do with this discussion? Do you have stats on the violent crime rate with and without those folks in the mix? If not, then you need to make some other point instead of just repeating non-sequiturs, which seems to be a trend on this thread.
