Jimmy Kimmel Says He’s Filing A Federal Complaint Against The Trumps

While Kimmel is busy bashing Trump for selling imports I doubt that he will mention that he drives a BMW.

Let us know when Kimmel is in a position to impact trade and manufacturing or tariffs on imports, or when Kimmel has gone on a campaign trail telling people to buy American.

The point being that Trump's store, like countless other stores, sells foreign made products? Imports, and the selling of them, was done under many previous administrations and will likely continue. The idea that Trump opposes buying or selling imports, rather than having a large trade deficit, is appealing only to Trump bashers, like Kimmel. BTW, Kimmel drives a BMW.

But Trump is offshoring the production of his own products, which contributes to the trade deficit, which he (supposedly) opposes but I guess only when it won't cost him an extra $3 per tie to get it sourced to the U.S., in which case Fk MAGA, gotta make money, which is of course what all the other companies do that produce their items overseas.

And it's doubly hypocritical to whine about unfair trade, but take advantage of allegedly unfair trade practices to produce something overseas to maximize your own profits, AND hide from buyers that you produced the item oversees. The point of labeling is to inform buyers who do want to buy U.S. made products, and/or avoid those produced in foreign countries.

And I don't know the model or specifics, but there's a decent chance that BMW is as made in the U.S.A. as a lot of Fords and Chevys, which are often assembled in Mexico or Canada.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_in_the_United_States#Spartanburg_manufacturing_plant

In 2010 BMW announced that it would spend $750 million to expand operations at the Greer plant. This expansion will allow production of 240,000 vehicles a year and will make the plant the largest car factory in the United States by number of employees.[10] BMW's largest single market is the United States, where 339 dealerships sold 346,023 cars in 2015.[11]

The $2.2 billion plant, which employs 8,800, is part of the company’s global five-plant production network.

The automaker announced in 2014 an additional $1 billion investment in the facility that will make Spartanburg, South Carolina BMW's largest US factory, with an annual capacity of 450,000 units[12] when including the X7.[13] There were 364,000 vehicles produced in 2014, of which 70% were exported to 140 countries.[5] The plant is second only to the plant in Dingolfing, Germany in BMW vehicle production.[14]

So far there is no known mislabeling of products.

Yeah, because that BMW was outsourced to a third-world country to take advantage of cheap labour, instead of paying Americans a living wage.
Those clothes in that store, any chance they were made under conditions that would be illegal in the US? Any chance they were made in a foreign country to get around the cost of doing things safely? And because children can be paid a pittance?

The man who rose to prominence by utilizing scantily clad women jumping on trampolines and skits such as one mocking the women and bleeding heart types by convincing them to sign a petition to end woman's suffrage, now becoming a glowing heroic beacon to progressives, will forever just make me chuckle in an Alannis type of way.

Well, we're all glad your straw man delusions keep you happy! Whatever it takes I guess!

Depending on which model it may have been made in the US. If it is an SUV, it is very likely it was

It is really silly to preach "Buy American / Hire American" and not do it yourself. Makes you look like a Huge hypocrite.

Buy American, hire American, just whatever you do, don't hire union workers, or buy union made products,.

We would not want the middle class to grow again!

A company that we did some packaging for, had a shipment of product rejected at the boarder because it did not have a "Product of Canada" printed on the boxes. (that companies fault not mine. They had to get us to put a printed label on each box for the product that was being shipped to the US. I believe only non pre-processed foods (like cuts of beef) can get away with not having country of origin labels on it. Even apples at the store will have a price list indicating where they are from

No country of origin has to be identified on meat if it comes from outside the US.

When I was a meat cutter we sold very cheap Mexican beef next to our certified black Angus. It was required to be clearly labeled and all trimmings had to be discarded, it was illegal to mix the trim to make grinds.

Well I bet that his beamer has a clear label showing country of origin, and unless be paid extra to have one shipped from Germany would say manufactured in the United States.

What you doubt is not really relevant.

The point being made is the difference between what Trump says and what he does

That is a fact, but hardly limited to Trump.

I own a trump tie that I bought at a TJ Max for twelve bucks. The tag said original price was 169.00, it was made in China.

Where do you think his five X long ties are made? ( He clearly can not wear a tie that properly ends at the belt. He needs one long enough to point right at his junk.

Jimmy Kimmel. A career built on juggies and exploiting women. Good times....

It was before that. Remember "Win Ben' Stein's Money?"

Just when I think Trump could not be more of an idiot, he lowers the bar even more. Make China Great Again!

Oh, he can indeed be a prick...but he is funny...

...and he's often very right, especially when pointing out the utter hypocrisy of the Right. What he did here was a great example - Trump campaigned SO hard about "making American great again", about "bringing back jobs from overseas"...and yet his store doesn't seem to sell anything made in America. But that's no big surprise - this past November he hired 70 foreign workers for Mar-a-Lago. Here's what the local newspaper had to say about that:

"We currently have 5,136 qualified candidates in Palm Beach County for various hospitality positions listed in the Employ Florida state jobs database," CareerSource spokesman Tom Veenstra told the Palm Beach Post.

But y'all are a-okay with hypocrisy, I guess, which is why right-wing evangelicals are SO okay with Trump's extramarital dalliances and public rudeness and daily lies.

Talk about hypocrisy Glen, didn't Hillary shame white women for not voting for her raunchy ass?

From what I gathered, the issue is if items made in foreign countries aren't identified as such. That's where the fine would kick in. If I read it right.

That is a US Customs issue.

Kimmel can't do anything about it.
