Jan. 6 panel asks GOP lawmaker to testify about Capitol tour

There are suspicions about Pelosi. When do you think they will be asking her about the security around the Capitol? Mitch as well.
May as well add Schumer and McCarthy to that list too. Oh wait, the Committee is trying to ask McCarthy questions, but he's peed his panties and unable to speak to the 1/6 Committee. Seriously, I have no idea about when, but our option is to wait until the final report comes out to learn more about the security failures.

You, I and millions of other folks will need to wait until the 1/6 Committee's final report comes out to read if additional information aside from the Senate's June report is revealed.
True.

Still doesn't change that the J6 committee is little more than a politically driven, political Kabuki theater, given that the most consistent political push narrative has been, and will likely continue to be, 'Trump supporters and Republicans are the same as 1/6 'insurrectionists' and a threat to our Democracy', when none of those things are factual or true.

You seem to have me confused with someone else, or are overly broad brushing.

Care to quote some of these alleged posts of mine?

“suspicions about Pelosi.” That’s like “some has said.”

Arresting someone and then investigating is the order of activities.
That's the duty of law enforcement, especially the FBI. I'm wondering though - doesn't law enforcement agencies also detain folks and then question/investigate them?

Don't you realize how patently obvious you are? It is deliciously hilarious. Good day!
It's as if I scripted it.... ROFLAE

No argument about the duty.

If there is sufficient reasonable grounds for suspicion of a crime having been committed by that person, yes.

The point I was making was the order of the tasks, and I noticed a typo in my previous post.

"Arresting someone and then investigating is the order of activities." ==>> "Arresting someone and then investigating is NOT the proper order of activities."

I always find it funny watching trump sheep bitch about the 1/6 committee and carp about how they are "Theater" or "Dog and Pony show" being that it's been done behind closed doors to this point, you haven't a clue as to what they've done. If it were kabuki theater or a dog and pony show, it would be more like Gym Jordan or Lindsay Graham screaming irrelevancies at tv cameras.

The order of business for the 1/6 Select Committee is to investigate the attempt of an insurrection/coup with intent to impede Congress's validation of the next US president that resulted in a violent assault on the Capitol Building. But, with every committee action in all of Congress, there's political theater involved as well. The nature of the beast. As long as findings come out of this 1/6 Committee, that's the main point for having it.

Already identified long ago that it is as I and others have described.

"insurrection/coup" is just so much politically driven overblown hype, and yet this is the basis on which this committee was formed and founded.
"impede Congress" is accurate, and are reflected in the vast majority of the charges filed and trial decisions related to the protest which got out of control.

Let’s stick to provable facts.

Loudermilk was asked if any tours were given by anyone for any reason on Jan 5. He authored a report that said no, no one gave any tours. Now we know and he admits that he gave a tour.

I want to believe him and give him the benefit of the doubt, but It was so innocent why hide it? Why lie to congress?

Trump’s sheeple have been telling each other that even before there was a Committee.

And, piece by piece, the Committee has been able to gain the plan for the insurrection, identify about all of the participants, and get one of the conspirators to admit publicly that Trump was a conspirator in overthrowing the government. Now, it is gradually revealing how widesread the knowledge of the plot was amongst the GOP congress and leadership, and are now looking at who in the leadership was also an active participant.

Which is why they’re all trying to hide from invitations and subpoenas.

It’s a pretty clear picture, of a dark and very anti American plot.

And since nearly half the GOP still pledges alliegance to the perpetrator of this plot and his henchmen, it’s pretty easy for anyone ot argue that trump supporters and Republican are the same as 1/6 insurrectionists.

1. Determine if a crime may have been committed.
2. Investigate.
3. Charge, arrest the alleged perps.

There are surveillance cameras all over. The panel says they have definitive evidence that he did give a tour. Probably video.

We will see it in due time.

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot is asking GOP Rep. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia about a tour he led of the Capitol complex a day before it was overrun by a mob of Trump supporters, saying they're looking into reports of protestors who scoped out the building ahead of the riot.

The Jan. 6 panel also noted in a letter Thursday to Loudermilk that Republicans on the Committee on House Administration — "of which you are a member" — claimed to have reviewed security video footage of the days leading up to the riot and found "there were no tours, no large groups, no one with [Make America Great Again] hats on."

"However, the Select Committee's review of evidence directly contradicts that denial," said the letter from the Jan. 6 panel's chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., and its vice chair, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo.

"Based on our review of evidence in the Select Committee's possession, we believe you have information
regarding a tour you led through parts of the Capitol complex on January 5, 2021," the letter said.

Unfortunately for the democrats it keeps blowing up in their faces. The Russian Collusion Hoax is now under investigation and adding to Hillary Clintons decades long list of scandals. And when the GOP takes over the House of Reps late next January, the J6 Select Committee will end up under investigation for what it did not investigate. And even the first impeachment of Trump accelerated the investigation of Biden's crack addicted son Hunter, which could ultimately lead to Biden's impeachment.

First, there is no investigation of Hillary Clinton. Choose another news outlet. What is happening is that a minor figure was charged with a narrow charge of lying to the FBI because he said he wasn't working for anyone when he spoke to the FBI.
Second, there is no "scandal." Trying to get the press to write uncomplimentary articles about your opponent isn't illegal. Trump did it in spades.
Third, investigate the committee? You mean a retribution driven witchhunt? What the committee is doing, investigating an attack on the Capitol and democracy, Republicans of yesteryear would have applauded. The new GOP are just a bunch of fascist authoritarians, who wanted to overthrow American democracy and don't want anyone looking into their crimes.
Fourth, you need to pour ice water on yourself because having such a boner for Hunter Biden is unhealthy.

Very little of that rant is anywhere close to coherent. Hillary is absolutely under investigation:

And Hillary has been embroiled in non-stop scandals throughout her career, going all the way back to the 1980s. Next I suppose you will say she was never under investigation for her email scandals. The rest of your post is a combination of ultra partisan fantasy and TDS.

Is that the best you can Google -- a six month old commentary from an obscure right-wing newspaper?
I don't think you even realize that when that publication wrote, “Durham told a federal court that he is scrutinizing members of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign as part of his criminal inquiry into the origins and conduct of the Trump-Russia investigation," Durham was referring to Sussman.
Those "Hillary scandals" have all been discredited. List of non-scandals" that the right-wing still can't give up on.

Whitewater, 1992
Travelgate, 1993
Vince Foster Death, 1993
Filegate, 1996
Benghazi, 2012
Clinton Foundation, 2015
Private Email Server, 2015

Are you really going to bang the drum of Hillary's emails when Trump took classified documents with him to Mar-a-Lago when he was thrown out of office?
You are a classic example of today's right-wing that has been so propagandized by falsehoods that you can't even see the truth.
