So, Cohen provided a rehash of much of what we already know. What has his actions, his emotional outbursts, his hype have to do with how the Democrats on the panel conducted themselves? I watched pretty much the entire hearing. While there were some moments where things got heated, most the reactions by Democrats were in response to how Republicans on the panel conducted themselves.

Now, if you're trying to claim that the entire hearing was a big waste of time, I would disagree with you. Again, Cohen may have rehashed some things we already knew or went into greater detail about things we knew a little of, but one thing that wasn't previously known were those checks and who wrote them. That, my friend, the GOP nor Trump will not be able to explain away no matter how hard they try.

I recall Cohen answered that the checks came from a personal account. To that I say, so?

There is no news here. The Democrats are grandstanding in their attempt to get Trump out of office any way they can. If not impreachment or indictment then sway the vote in the election 2020. Yeah, but the only way you'd get to either of them would be if someone implicates them in knowing what was going on. Until that happens, you can't just go after the wife or kid just because you think they may know something. That said, I firmly believe that if investigators go after Ivanka and back her into a corner, Trump will do everything in his power to protect her including fall on his sword. She's the one person he'd drop everything for in order to protect.

I know that Mueller is finished with Cohen, and all that Cohen had to offer. No added indictments from Mueller or form NY. And they had all this info a long time ago. Cohen named names. Are you going to call those folks pathological liars as well when they corroborate Cohen's testimony? When they produce documentary evidence that Trump was aware of and even ordered the bank fraud, the insurance fraud, and the tax evasion, are you going to dismiss that as well?

Did Cohen say "I know for a fact there was no collusion,"? No, Cohen said he had "no knowledge of collusion." To your mind, that proves there was no collusion. Interesting.

I'm not sure they can stop it altogether. They might be able to argue the president doesn't have to answer to congress, but the staff? Or any other private citizen? Maybe they'll be able to swing a closed-door hearing.

TBH I still wonder if the Dems in congress even have the stones to ask. They've not been the most aggressive bunch in recent years. The wall battle and the Cohen hearing were signs they're willing to push back, but I still fear they can't handle a real fight. The GOP has been down in the mud for many years. They're better at this.
