Is this the new Florida?

I would suggest that there is the very distinct probability that Trump, in coordination with Russia, hacked the Democrat's voting app and likely inserted subversives in the caucuses with the express intention of sowing discord. Every single sign in Iowa points to EXACTLY the type of election interference Schiff so compellingly and brilliantly explained over the past several months and what the Democrats in DC so heroically impeached him for. I mean, why else would this happen on the very eve of the State of the Union address?

The signs are clear as can be and there is literally no other explanation than that Trump personally organized this for his own personal benefit.

Damn, I'm surprised you can hold your head up to see the computer screen with that tinfoil hat.

Technical debacle in reporting vote clouds future of Iowa caucuses

Seems awful suspicious especially in light of the fact that the Democratic Party has reportedly been in a panic over Sander's likely win. In any case I'm just curious as to how our Democratic friends see this. Is it just a hiccup or a sign that the Party might implode?

You are talking about a State where the people can't even figure out how to use a butterfly ballot. Only those who have an IQ below room temperature live in Florida.

Hey mister! I’m an old man. Leave them alone.

It's the longest recovery in American history. It began after the Bush crash.

We got through the entire Obama administration and never saw the Blue Collar Boom. Truth is, Obama said that a Blue Collar Boom couldn't happen. He said Trump couldn't make it happen unless he had a magic wand.

If we believe Obama, then we must accept that Trump actually has a Magic Wand. Don't worry. I'm not recommending we believe Obama.

Turns out that Trump did exactly what he said he was going to do, according to Obama. It worked exactly as Trump predicted, according to the real world.

Go Figure. Maybe the reason Obama was so far from finding success is that he was so far from being innovative.

Trump said he would negotiate a better deal. Obama cited this as being impossible. This tells more about Obama than anything else available anywhere.

Obama to Trump: 'What magic wand do you have?' | TheHill

“Well, how exactly are you going to do that? What exactly are you going to do? There’s no answer to it," Obama said.

"He just says, 'Well, I’m going to negotiate a better deal.' Well, what, how exactly are you going to negotiate that? What magic wand do you have? And usually the answer is, he doesn’t have an answer.”

Obama has slammed Trump in the past.

During a speech Wednesday, the president bashed one of the candidate's central arguments that international trade and immigration have hurt American voters. He called Trump's pledge to roll back Wall Street regulations "crazy."

"That will not help us win," Obama said of Trump. "That is not going to make your lives better."

Trump often talks about bringing back manufacturing jobs while on the campaign trail and pledges to place tariffs on companies that move outside of the country.

Promises made. Promises kept.

It was a slow and weak recovery until Trump got hold of it.

At that point, it seems to have become an expansion returning to the trend started by Reagan and continuing onward from there.

And the descent begins.

I'll admit to using colorful language to describe the architects of the ongoing swindles perpetrated by the Democrat-Socialist party.

I was not directing those comments against other posters here.

That said, the swindlers are doing exactly what I have asserted they are doing. Do they not, EVERY SINGLE YEAR, PROMISE TO CORRECT THE SAME, EXACT SOCIETAL ILLS?

When do you suppose they'll actually do something helpful?

Can anyone not be suspicious of the motives to abandon a vote counting system in IOWA that has worked for decades in favor of one that can easily be tampered with?

Am I the only one that wonders why the company engineering this debacle was associated with the Clintons?

As Biden might say during a pool side leg massage, "C'mon, man!"

fake news. the recovery from the Bush crash has been fairly steady during two administrations even with the coke bump tax cuts for the rich. we're exceptionally lucky that the impeached orange fool's one man trade war hasn't ****ed it up yet. hopefully we can vote him out before it does.

Steady but weak, and the so-called experts have no idea why recoverys keep getting weaker.

I suggest that this should concern you, both that they are getting worse, and that those who run the system have no idea what is going on.

It's a lot of factors, including automation, outsourcing, and declining union membership, IMO. However, we are in the longest recovery in American history. It didn't begin with the impeached peach.

The recession was over by Obamas 5th month in office before he had implemented any of his responses.

There is absolutely no doubt that the economy immediately improved upon the election of Trump, but that would have been the case had anyone won, other than a Democrat. The stagnant economy under Obama was pathetic. The economy under Trump has more than doubled since Obama was President, but that isn't saying much since the economy under Obama barely grew by 1%. The economy still isn't normal under Trump. A normal economy should be growing at between 3% and 5% GDP annually. We are barely growing by more than 2% and that is largely due to Trump's moronic tariffs which hurts consumers.

it took a minute for the economy to steady after the Bush crash.

Yeup, there seems to be a whole lot of revisionist propaganda being posted here as truth, all of which has been debunked many times. Sadly some still believe the stuff to be gospel truth, there is no cure for stupid.

Yup! Fair trade could ruin everything. Better act quick.

From Real Clear Politics:

<snip>

"The left has been clear that anyone even remotely friendly to Trump must be destroyed."

"...the president came out and gave a highly normal, pretty moderate and pretty effective speech last night."

"If anything, one of his strongest themes seemed to be the push to bridge racial divides in our country."

"The Democrats keep screaming that Trump is a dangerous, racist lunatic, but then he gets on TV and sounds the exact opposite."

"After a speech that was generally unifying and positive, celebrating our great country, the last image voters were left with was an angry Pelosi slowly ripping apart each page of the president's speech."

<snip>

RCP is not a Right Wing rag hypnotically committed to supporting Trump. They're a pretty even handed pulse taker of the country's sentiment.

They are saying what I've been saying here for years: The hatred ginned up by the propagandists is not justified by the real world events they lie about.

Do YOU feel victimized by having swallowed the propaganda hook line and sinker?

I admit I don't know how this caucus thing works. Do you think it should be abolished?

Having lived in a caucus state and participated in caucuses I can tell you it's wildly erratic and run by people with no training. Here's how it works. All Democrats from a ward are supposed to meet in one place. That never happens. Only a few dedicated political types show up. Signs with candidates name on them are places around the room and the people who support that candidate meet under the sign with his name. Often there are no signs and someone just keeps calling out Candidate X meets here.

When everyone is in place a count is taken in each group and called out to a recorder. The recorder figures out what % of the vote of the people in the room that candidate has and announces it. Those candidates who got below a cut off % are eliminated from the caucus and his people move to their next favorite candidate's group but not without a lot of campaigning to get freed-up voters to choose another candidate. A count is again taken and the candidates below the cut off % point are eliminated. Some people will leave if their candidate is eliminated instead of going to another candidate. As the number of candidates decrease the % cut off changes. Figuring the % accurately is almost impossible. Eventually only one candidate is left.

Every ward sends the name of the candidate and the final number of people in his/her group to the party headquarters in town. Each town tabulates the number and % each final candidate got and sends the numbers to the state's party headquarters. They figure out the % each candidate got and announce the figures. It is an incredibly inefficient, time consuming and inaccurate system. Each ward caucus is run by some person willing to lead the process and do the counting. A caucus can last from 3 to 6 hours. Anyway that's how Maine does a caucus.

Thanks for your explanation. It sounds chaotic. Here in Ohio we go to our ward voting location, cast our ballots and leave. No lobbying other than the dedicated candidate volunteers outside the building. They’re not allowed inside.

Trump's efforts to address the trade inequities are the main slower of the economy. Those problems were bequeathed to him by the inaction of his predecessors.

The FACT that Trump is addressing this and so many other problems that his predecessors ignored or exacerbated should be refreshing for everyone.

What Trump is doing reminds me of the revolution in quality controls that were inspired by the butt whipping administered to our auto makers by the Japanese in the 1970's.

The Big 3 Auto Makers were comfortable doing everything wrong even though it wasn't working. That is very similar to our government.

The parade of State Department Types who got out of the Clown Car to testify before the House is a perfect example of the idiocy that grips our government in general and our foreign relations in particular.

It was hysterical that these testifying idiots were acting on rumors spread by morons who knew nothing and pretended they actually knew what they were doing.

When finally questioned regarding the instructions they received, it was revealed they were doing things in direct opposition to what Trump ordered.

Then they criticized Trump because the misinformation they accepted and subsequently participated in formulating was not helpful.

MORONS! By testifying to their stupidity they might as well have been wearing dunce hats. MORONS!

Is it possible that maybe...just maybe..voting problems aside the voting results are actually accurate and there WAS a virtual tie between Buttigieg and Sanders? Frankly...considering the field..I dont know why that is such an unreasonable finding.
