Is This Guy A Joke or What? [W:33]

Heh. Well, I'm biased. I don't see anything wrong with what Brent said. It's inflammatory. That's why he said it, and it's no different than calling Palin an inbred cretin or whatever insult the left dreams up for the target of the day or week. The truth is that Obama plays his race to every advantage he can. I don't blame him, but the notion that he's immune from having such things come back on him from time to time is silly. I think the poster that put the image of Dave Chapelle here has it right. It's time to lighten up a little on the race issue. I think the image of Obama as a crack head is pretty funny - it's a lot funnier if Brent stays out of it, but funny none the less. Bush was constantly portrayed as the Mad Magazine character, and I thought that was funny as well. They may be president, but they're still human. That bias exists, and it does, is not a reason in and of itself for debate beyond the admission that it exists. We know the sources.

He's not immune. What I'm saying is that I'd rather see it discussed in a forum that doesn't turn into the pot and the kettle and which one is more black.

Bozell would be the first one to complain about the media calling Palin names. In fact, the video clip there is probably a response to something like that exactly.

Ah ... yet they all present themselves as balanced.
Now ... what % of folks tuning in think that what they're watching truly is balanced?
Or, alternatively, what % of folks tuning in to Morning Joe, for example, do that to reinforce what they want to believe?

Probably about the same percentages as the viewership of Fox and Friends.

They all present themselves as "fair and balanced." If they said "we bang the drum for ____" nobody would watch. That goes for Rush and Glenn Beck also. They tell their listeners "Don't believe the Liberal media, believe me!"

So you equate an interestingly timed facial expression, a smoker, and someone who is expressing himself in a culturally AA way as being the same as a ghetto crack head. Oh my, your racism is showing.

Oh, no! You called me a racist! Now what will I ever do?

Oh, WOE IS ME!!!

He sure did.

BOZELL: How long do you think Sean Hannity's show would last if four times in one sentence, he made a comment about, say, the President of the United States, and said that he looked like a skinny, ghetto crackhead? Which, by the way, you might want to say that Barack Obama does. Everybody on the left would come forward and demand he be fired within five minutes for being so insulting towards a leader of the United States.

Whoa would have been way better than saying nothing, and thereby implying that Bozells comment was Okay.

Comments like Bozell's are never okay, whether they come from the right or the left.

I continue to believe that we can disagree without being disagreeable.

It appears you're intentionally overlooking the fact that in the cable world, for example, on the one hand you have FOX and on the other you have everything else.
A good analogy is ... you.
Your biography here says you lean Moderate yet I haven't seen you do anything but defend the Left's overwhelming control over most media outlets and big city government when anyone points that out.

I agree but there is a difference between Matthews and Bozell beyond their partisanship. Matthews is an opinion guy that should know better than to make stupid comments, but Bozell is supposedly a truth teller who is selling a book that says the media stole the election for President Obama. Its hogwash and deserves to be mocked.

Dude, to hell with your excuses, they BOTH deserved to be mocked. Get over your partisanship, its disgusting.

The reason I "defend" the Liberal bias of the media is that it's in the First Amendment that media outlets have the RIGHT to lean whichever way they want to. It's in the freaking Constitution, which maybe you should read next time you go playing the victim.

Cities have elections. The fact that the Republicans have abandoned the cities is frankly their own fault. Most of the time, they pretty much choose not to compete. I guess it doesn't jive with your CPC, though.

While we're talking about people's lean, maybe you should "disclose" yours. It's not like it's a secret.

I wasn't excusing Matthews, in fact I said his comment was stupid. Do you have a comment on the video in the OP?

Okay ... what % do you think lean left?
% of commentators?

Or maybe it would be easier to simply ask you to name which of the major cable and network news organizations are clearly conservative-leaning.
Fox.
ABC CBS NBC CNN all pretty damn center when it comes to commentators.
MSNBC liberal.

Surely you are kidding...

No. Not at all. I think its been a cheap talking point that rose during the aftermath of the Iraq war when we found out that Iraq had no WMDS and combine that when teh economy starting to go downhill and also rose during t the 2008 election when Sarah Palin wasn't getting favorable coverage, because its damn near impossible to give her favorable coverage after the **** she says.

uh huh ... and it's a damn good thing where they lean, huh.

It's in the freaking Constitution, which maybe you should read next time you go playing the victim.

Oh please ... that kind of pretentiousness indicates you're out of reason bullets

Cities have elections.

uh huh ... and large cities have been known for their clean governments and it's a mere coincidence that they are under Democrat control, huh.
Wanna see a menagerie take a look at who they have in the NYC Mayoral & other positions bullpen.

.

So why disclose what you think you already know. It's not like someone making believe they're a moderate.

So you honestly don't believe the media minus Fox is in the President's pocket?

% of commentators?

Fox.

C'mon ... that was a serious question ... no need for the absurd response.

Yes.. Unless you have "proof" that they are in "the President's pocket"..

Watch the news, it's all the proof you need. Take the Sequester for instance, the Republicans were painted time and time again as the ones at fault, YET Obama and his Democrat party are the ones that came up with the sequester in the first place.

You didn't see them asking real questions about Benghazi, IRS, or other scandals Obama has been involved with. You saw them praise ObamaCare and not actually reporting what is in the bill. All you have to do is watch the news to see the proof, it is ridiculous.

Moderate =/= agrees with right wing nuts

uh huh ... and it's a damn good thing where they lean, huh.

They have the right to do it.

The Constitution is pretentious?

I suppose then, that we should have government control over the press to make sure that it's all equal and "fair" then. Now who's the lefty? The Constitution guarantees the free press, and our system guarantees free markets. If Conservatives want more media, they should get out their checkbooks.

uh huh ... and large cities have been known for their clean governments and it's a mere coincidence that they are under Democrat control, huh.

Oh boo hoo, you're so persecuted...Compete in the election and see what happens. I know here there's rarely a Republican candidate for city office. It's hard to vote for someone who isn't running.

Uhhh not really.

You didn't see them asking real questions about Benghazi, IRS, or other scandals Obama has been involved with.
Yes Benghzai they did cover it... Although FOX did cover it to a much greater extent like there was nothing else going on in the world this does not indicate bias.

You saw them praise ObamaCare and not actually reporting what is in the bill. All you have to do is watch the news to see the proof, it is ridiculous.
They also report on Obamacare.
You havent proven anything.

Ah ... at least you won't be trying to run that "moderate" scam anymore ... that's something.

Not really on the sequester? You are too far gone....

As soon as you change your lean....

Actually, I got the moderate tag from TurtleDude. He's on your side, btw.

Memes prove everything!

Well ... when someone makes believe or, worse, when they really don't recognize the truth that's right before them then, yeah it proves it.
