I am so tired of the fat acceptance movement and people trying to force the world to accommodate people that have no discipline and have lost control.

You can't even tell me what was said that contradicts what I said. You tried and ended up arguing against something I didn't even say. You then began to reiterate something I had already gone over earlier in the thread because you're not paying attention to the words I am typing. You are confused Middleground and I don't care to try anymore.

Calories in / calories out? How quickly you forget. Your notion of this is wrong. Aside from maybe drawing some pictures, I don't know how I can make any clearer. If you bothered to watch Dr Fung's presentation, you'd see how wrong you are. Instead, you pretend that you know everything and don't give one iota of a shit of advancing yourself with much more advanced knowledge. I'm teetering on whether you're intentional being obtuse or you're trolling me.

Again so what? Let them complain. How does a bigger seat hurt you?

Companies push that alcohol and smoking and fast food is cool .....is that great for kids?

No and that’s kinda his whole point.

When you give everyone free access to all of the sugars, salts, and fats that they want, some of them are going to consume in excess. We are biologically driven to consume high calorie foods. We are animals, with an animal's drive.

But it is still a choice.

Calories in / calories out?

You are gaslighting me and once again arguing against an imagined position. I have said half a dozen times now that keeping track of calorie intake should only be one aspect of weight loss strategy. I have reiterated THOROUGHLY that weight loss strategy should implement more than that but you won't listen to me. All I said about calories is they are worth being aware of because it is impossible to lose weight without creating a deficit.

Nothing in your video contradicts what I said because no MD on Earth would disagree with what I said.

I would likely agree with just about everything said in that video. The problem is because you don't know a lot about this topic you are confused about what the video is actually saying and about what I am actually saying.

Yet he does not rail against alcohol acceptance

Well he’s not arguing against food acceptance either. Both food and alcohol are fine, but they can be abused and the results can be pretty sad.

You seem reasonable. Any chance you want to help me explain to Middleground what she is failing to understand? I'm running out of ideas.

A calorie deficit is different for everybody. What the hell does that mean? That is what I am talking about. How do you know what your calorie deficit is (basal metabolic rate)? You keep ignoring what I am saying while all you're doing is regurgitating your pre-conceived notions. Like I said, your way of thinking is very dated. I know you won't watch what I posted because you prefer to be "right." Keep your head in the ****ing sand, I don't give a shit.

Why does insulin make you fat? Insulin does not have any calories.
Why does Diet Coke make you fat? Diet Coke does not have any calories.
Why do people plateau when losing weight?
Calories in, calories out, right?

Diet Coke doesn’t, in itself, make anyone fat. It’s the triple bacon cheeseburger that came with it that does. Honestly, MG, It is still generally true that weight gain happens when we consume more calories than we burn and weight loss is the reverse. I’m sure there are exceptions to that, but not enough to swallow the rule. That’s why weight loss surgery is about reducing the size of the stomach so someone physically can’t take in more calories.

No there really aren't exceptions because that is impossible unless you learn how to use photosynthesis. Your body can not create energy from nothing.

I'm not sure what you want to do. Do you want to change some law? Do you stop some group from free speech? What do you want?

I am only here to advocate on reality's behalf.

I've never heard Trump championing fat acceptance.

Actually you have since Trump is allegedly against allowing that pre-existing condition (aka actuarial risk factor) being used to increase medical care insurance premiums and/or deductibles.

I have to make your point for you?

How about we just support a healthy lifestyle thru the government....which we do now already
Obesity is getting worse.

I am tired of their social movement. You can barely use social media anymore without being exposed to it regularly. The movement is unhealthy for society and it's absurd to expect society to build infrastructure to accommodate extreme obesity.

I'll also admit to being generally disgusted by them. It's the physical manifestation of laziness and a lack of discipline. It makes me physically uncomfortable to even see an extremely obese person.

By the way they also inundate healthcare systems all over the world. Any doctor will tell you about the extreme impact caused by obese patients. My own brother works in the medical field and is starting to have back pains at 26 because he has to constantly move enormous people around to help give them treatment. It's a disgusting, harmful lifestyle and society should be louder about that fact.

Perhaps the above is an illustration why culture sees a need to show acceptance towards the obese as human beings who are no less deserving of love than you. Love and acceptance are effective motivators to get healthy. Shame, elitism, and disgust are not effective motivators, and are much more destructive to the health of society as a whole than fat people.

Your prejudice and intolerance is far more destructive to your culture than any fat person is. By your own estimation of what is good for society, perhaps it is you that should be shamed and ostracized for your attitude towards your fellow human beings?
