Its in the midst of that time of the year in UK, the rare times in which we have a god forsaken curse called 'heat wave' .....

The humdity and heat is making it impossible to keep one cool and i am not used to such heat.
Short of having a shower every ten seconds, how do you keep yourself cold?
I have ice and i'm down to my shorts and bra and im still sweating like hell

I live in California, and we usually get heat waves every year too.

Whenever it's too hot, I just don't stay at home. I go walking in the mall with my wife, there's always nice air conditioning there. Or, I go to the park and read under a tree. But if I do stay home, I make sure I shut all the windows/doors and try to not let that much light through the house. It isn't completely dark, but it cools down my house considerably.

DO NOT sit in front of a fan because it's like breathing from an oxygen tank. The moment you walk away from it, you can't stand the heat and need to go back to it.

Its dark right now and it hasn't seemed to make much difference to the heat
The night is especially humid and i don't even have a fan, i told you. Having sunny days is just that rare over here :(

And now you have all the guys hot and bothered...

Oh, humid heat...

Another thing I do is to sit on the floor, which is usually very cool. Unless of course you have carpet...which is like sitting on the sofa or couch. It generates heat just by you sitting there.

Tiled floor is better than wooden floors. :)

I live in Wyoming. Any excessive heat is easily countered by the gallon of ice-cold Gatorade I drink every day.

The answer to hot weather is the same as the answer to every other problem...ice cream, preferably chocolate.

Well if I am indoors, its the A/C. But now that I reside in the south, and it gets hot outside all the time, I just go ahead and sweat. :2razz:

no problems here in Maine , we have had little sun of temps above 65 this year

How hot has it been?
Drink lots of water and try to get used to it. After a while it won't feel as bad.

The factory I work in is about 2 degrees cooler on the inside than it is outside.
The temps have been between 29C and 35C lately, on an 29 day its wonderful.
The best way I've found to help myself is by drinking water.

Gotta love a southern summer.

In America, we have these things called..... AIR CONDITIONERS:mrgreen:

They don't use fans and air conditioners in Britain.
You could say that the climate change did to Britain what the German Blitz did to Poland back in 1939.

We have heat waves once every couple of years out of the blue with no warning.

Is it worth spending hundreds for something you will use twice in the space of 3/4 years?

It's funny that you call 32C "an heat wave".
It's over 40C here currently, and I've seen hotter days.

It has been in the 30's C (In the 80s/90's F) for the past few days. Scorching hot.
I've drank alot of water, does not seem to be making any difference.

I hate the summer and i hate sun.

It's a heatwave in our standard

You are in the middle east! I would hope you are used to it.
We usually have rain and snow at this period but apparently climate change is making our summers hotter and winters colder.

That's hot? Over the past few days here in Dallas (no I do not know JR:mrgreen:) it has been 100+.

When my mother was growing up here before the day of air conditioning she would soak her sheets in water wring them out but not dry them and let the water evaporate over the night.

I can't skate ... or swim :(

Learn! It's worth it in both cases.

I lived in the ocean!
