House Republicans propose more tax cuts as elections near. BOOM!

yeah we still do. Let us know when trump surpasses obamas debt. Until then, all you have is your hopes and dreams of winning this argument.

lol

Yeah, that's why we had the Reagan, Bush, and now Trump deficits. Y'all are really for "fiscal responsibility".

lol

intelligent people look at both debt and deficit. Obama himself cited the bush debt as unpatriotic and irresponsible.lefties applauded him...(on video)..He then took that number and more than doubled it. Lefties applauded again. Ridiculous how you guys grasp the wrong concept...every ...damn ....time.

Obama spent far too much, it is true. But Trump is outpacing him. Sure, it was bad when Obama did it, but when Trump does it, it's all good.

lol

nope, its not good. Like I said when he surpasses him let us know. Obamas spending yielded nothing except outrageous debt. He spent more money than anyone in human history with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Well I suppose we'll see what Trump's double Obama's spending will earn us then.

lol

Well we could save money if the left actually supported enforcing our borders but since they refuse to be Americans we have to spend money on a wall because they wont enforce them. We could stop giving illehals benefits and use that money to help Americans but lefties refuse, they prefer wasting our money on people who are here illegally. Shall we keep going on what we are spending money on that we shouldnt be?

Who the hell is "we" except the GOP Congress and a GOP President?

They became the Obama tax cuts when he first extended them and then kept 98.6% of them intact and slightly raised taxes on the top 1.4%. If you think that demorats if (when?) given control of the House are going to cut spending or raise taxes then you are in for a big surprise - I think that they would much rather add to the deficit/debt and make college "free".

Dems like domestic spending and Repubs like military spending. Which discretionary spending do you think costs taxpayers more, domestic or military spending?

Neither - which is the great political appeal of federal deficit spending. So long as congress critters (from both parties) can spend over 20% of GDP and need only tax at less than 18% of GDP then they get to keep being re-elected at a rate of over 90%. Because we the sheeple let them keep accepting hoards of campaign cash in exchange for spending more than they dare ask for in taxation they will continue to do so forever.

The borrow and spend cycle can only be broken by not re-electing the same congress critters but the price of doing so is going to be a decrease in federal spending and/or an increase in federal taxes - both politically unpopular choices that their opponents dare not run on.

And all of the governments force could have been focused where it can be easily dealt with, employers, since Reagan.

Why haven't Republicans done this?

Why have they actively opposed it?

More great news for Americans, and a brilliant Midterm gambit, as well.

Oh, and before the DP left start trying to pretend that they actually care about the deficit...TAX REVENNUES ARE UP since the tax cuts...SPENDING remains the budget problem.

Tax cuts INCREASE TAX REVENUES nationally, without fail...and INCREAING TAX REVENUES, does not contribute to increasing the deficit.

House Republicans propose more tax cuts as elections near

Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives plan to unveil another round of tax cuts this week, hoping to draw a sharp contrast between themselves and Democrats ahead of the Nov. 6 congressional elections.

Republican lawmakers and strategists say a new tax debate should amplify the party's upbeat economic message, touting a report by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation that forecast the creation of 1.5 million jobs and wage increases if individual tax cuts in last year's tax reform bill were made permanent.

"Anytime we're talking about tax cuts and the growing economy, we're winning," said Matt Gorman, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, the party's main campaign support for House Republican candidates.

Same story as told from a different perspective. The headline would read, House Republicans propose increasing the unprecedented deficit as elections near.

Love that line about tax cuts does not contribute to increasing the deficit. If so, lets just end all taxes and solve the deficit problem for good.
What a dumb thing to say.

Great rhetoric!

Have you ever had a thought of your own?

Then why did you say Obama paid off Bush's $10 trillion debt? When and how did that happen?

FY 2018 will end very close to a trillion dollars in debt, but sure, let's give it that last nudge ;)

Cause the last one went over like gangbusters...

On the eve of the tax cut bill, few Americans actually want it

As Republicans in Congress work to finalize a major tax cut bill, the centerpiece of President Trump's “MAGA-nomics” plan, Americans are not entirely enthusiastic about it. In the Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released this week, 25 percent said the bill is “good idea,” a potential pitfall as Trump and GOP lawmakers try to sell tax cuts for corporations and individuals to the nation Thursday.

Those tax cuts are a budget disaster. I thought republicans were the party of balanced budgets
Did you also think a miracle was going to occur within six months of passage? Personal income collections are up even while rates are down. Business is going to take longer.

Monthly Treasury Statement Receipts ($ Millions)

Receipts in April from the CY17 tax code are the only thing propping this up.

It's high time for republicans to roll out the cheney comments of how "deficits don't matter"... of course this only applies when republicans are in charge.

facebook level...Try harder

I am glad you got out the mirror

that is the first step

Yes, try harder, I admire when someone challenged whats to learn

good for you!

No matter who is elected it still depends on the priorities of the party in power. Repubs favor discretionary spending on military and Dems favor discretionary spending domestic programs. Which do you think costs the taxpayer more?

It was brought out in another thread earlier today. Misattributed to Dems.
