Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorables'

Re: Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorable

Some might say his decision to repudiate was politically expedient.

Some would also say that no one knows the hearts of any of His children except the Father. ;)

Re: Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorable

Correct, no matter what a citizen thinks of another candidate they shouldn't be insulted in that manner by a candidate. That is definitely somethings Hillary owed an apology for.

I'm confused--sorry. It was Hillary Clinton who described Trump supporters as a "basket of deplorables." It is she who owed the apology, and she has made it now.

Re: Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorable

He said joining the KKK was the worst mistake of his life. He regretted opposing the Civil Rights Act. He supported the NAACP's positions on bills. He rejected racism in words and actions.

I'm not defending him. I'm proving that your claim is BS. And I believe it seeks not to harm Hillary but serves as a validation fantasy.

My claim is right on. Why would you defend a grand dragon of the kkk?

No one is this dim.

Can't be.

He left the KKK and condemned it.

Why do you choose to reduce Senator Byrd to "Grand Dragon of the KKK"?

Validation fantasy. Both the ignoring of Byrd's recant and the fantasy that Clinton supports the KKK - validation fantasy.

The non apology apology is all I saw.

And with you too.

Ok, exalted cyclops. How's that?

Re: Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorable

True, but that said she did say it, meaning it shows that Hillary proved that her opponent is not the only one that occasionally shows their Lack-O-Class. How anyone can actually believe that either Trump or Hillary is fit to be elected to the most powerful position on the planet is beyond understanding. How we as a People have fallen, bad.

Re: Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorable

What do you think of Neo-Con warmongers like Robert Kagan and Richard Armitage and Kenneth Adelman supporting Clinton.

That's what would be called a deflection. We can discuss that in another thread.

Ok, exalted cyclops. How's that?

That's just fine with me. It's your choice to belittle another and reduce him to a title. ;)

With the way we the people have been getting hosed you cant get me to care much about politeness.

With the extent that morals have degraded you cant get me to care much about politeness.

We have tried our very best to paper over reality with soft language.

It does not work, it never worked, it will never work.

We have got to learn to prioritize.

Give me the truth teller.

Give me the builder.

Give me Trump.

Perhaps we have, sigh. But the reality is that these are the major candidates with whom we have been presented. Could I offer you a cup of arsenic or, if you prefer, cyanide? Or perhaps this instead:

Re: Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorable

That is not an apology!

Clinton expresses regret for saying 'half' of Trump supporters are 'deplorables' - CNNPolitics.com
"Last night I was 'grossly generalistic,' and that's never a good idea. I regret saying 'half' -- that was wrong," Clinton said in a statement in which she also vowed to call out "bigotry" in Trump's campaign.

The Democratic presidential nominee sparked an uproar late Friday when she described Trump's supporters at a fundraiser.

"To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables," Clinton said. "Right? Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it."

She added, "And unfortunately, there are people like that and he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric."

Clinton then said some of these people were "irredeemable" and "not America."

She described the rest of his supporters as people who are looking for change in any form because of economic anxiety and urged her supporters to empathize with them.

That's a clarification that didn't mean quite half. Its still a crappy way to treat voters, even when the comment is clarified.

I have to look at it this way, if you want any accountability in government, elect Trump, you know his every move will scrutinized. If you elect Hillary you know her every move will excused, if not hidden.

Re: Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorable

I think Hillary was right. I am astonished at this point that Trump supporters don't own it. They do fear blacks because they see them as violent, they hate Islam because they believe it is incompatible with Western values, they genuinely believe women should not be in traditionally male occupations and should expect to be mistreated if they are, and they believe Mexico is a foreign welfare state ran and paid for by America and it is intentionally sending over its criminals to strip hard working Americans of their jobs. That is Trump's bread and butter. I can't imagine why she would apologize for stating the obvious or why her supporters would not back her up.

I suppose if we can find enough people who will work without getting paid, Trump's style of business will work.

Oh, and Trump is a LIAR.

I don't know where you're getting all these strange assumptions, but I wonder about "blowback." I am not a Trump supporter, but I'm beginning to wonder if maybe, just maybe, I too am "deplorable" according to Clinton. I mean, I hear "Make America great again" and think "Make America great again."

Re: Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorable

Most likely you're right about Hillary being elected. It's getting harder and harder to be sure of that, though.

The only thing that's for sure on this planet is that nothing is for sure and that's for damn sure.

Vote for Trump. Who cares at this point. When your grandchildren see the footage of the man you voted for and the things he said for months when he was campaigning, you can explain to them why you voted for him. I suggest saying you were inspired by his message of keeping the rapist Mexicans out of the country, banning all Muslims from traveling here, that you agreed female soldiers should have expected to be sexually assaulted when they were integrated with male soldiers, and the solution to crime in a major city was for police to get harder when they were already killing unarmed black men. That certainly sends a message of a "great" America.

Re: Hillary Clinton groups half of Donald Trump's supporters in 'basket of deplorable

About a quarter of them were very upset at being called deplorable. The rest of them had to look up the word "deplorable".

Oh, spare me your whiny hyperbole. If you read ANY of my posts, you'll realize that I am not a Trump supporter.
