Granted, I rarely watch FOX News or cable, seeing as I don't have it. However many people state he's a complete fear-mongering liar. Is it true he spews nothing but lies? That he has no points whatsoever? Have any of you perhaps researched the issues that he brings up on his show? You see, I'm usually skeptical, I sympathize with a mahority of his views... but I'm very skeptical of the issues and facts he presents. Even if I already agree with someone 100% I'm NOT going to lap it all up without verifying his facts or reasonably understanding his thoughts/notions.
Now, I'm NOT experienced in what Beck says, so don't debate me on it. I do want to know if you think everything Beck says is nothing but lies or if he might just have some things riight.
Your thoughts?
Well, I watch his show on Fox 3 or 4 times a week and here's my view of the guy...
First, I think your confusing opinion with fact. Many don't subscribe to his opinions, but the man is not a liar. When it comes to facts, Beck is on the ball. He has in the neighborhood of 50 researchers on his staff to sift through and verify information, and he presents things that you just won't hear anywhere else. I used to constantly fact-check the guy the first year he was on Fox News, because of some of the off the wall stuff he would present. I don't do it much anymore, because it always proved a waste of my time.
My biggest beef with the guy isn't the information he presents at all, because he really does do his homework .... My main criticism of Beck is with some of the conclusions he comes to based on facts he digs up. He tends to see a hell of a lot more imminent or potential danger over some issues than I do, even when the facts are on his side. Let me put it to you this way... He isn't someone I listen to, that I very often jump up and say "I agree with you 100%" in response to something he says. Generally, I agree at least somewhat to most of his points, but rarely do I ever feel the same sense of outrage and urgency he does. It's kind of like Iran getting nukes... While nearly everyone will agree that Iran getting nuclear weapons isn't a good thing, the degree of danger and urgency people feel over it varies greatly. You understand my meaning here?
The reason I watch Beck's show is simple. I'm someone who strives for facts and knowledge. I love learning something new and seeing different ways of looking at things. Beck presents facts that few people know, and even fewer people on radio or TV will ever discuss.... Like the current and past history of the US economy, the constitution, our founding fathers, religion, world economics, along with every aspect of politics/politicians, both past and present.
Beck (in my view) may be somewhat of an alarmist at times, who's opinions are often unconventional and out of the mainstream, but that doesn't change the fact that the man is a gold mine of facts and little known information.... Extreme opinions? sure... Lies? no sir.
