Well I declare! It seems the elderly dementia addled usurper has some explaining to do. He needs to be grilled by Peter Doocy asap.

Politicians rarely flip-flop, yet many evolve their positions.
The perfect politician will promise to ‘fight like hell’ for all three sides of a given issue, yet profess to be somewhat against it under certain (but unnamed) circumstances.
The culture was in a different place in 1982.
A politician changing their position about something in the span of 40 years is not something worth caring about.I'm sure sure what your point is
OP does bring up a solid point. Biden has a history of basing his opinion on whichever way the wind blows. I don't think "cultural norms at that time dictated that so-and-so belief was popular" is an excuse for backwards views. The culture was in a different place in 1982.

Views on abortion have shifted substantially over the last 40 years. Joe Biden is a person and is just as likely to move with the times as any other person.
And the draft opinion recognizes that trimester framework for what it was - crossing the line into legislation. Neither framework in Roe or Casey has any basis in Constitutional law. It’s amazing to me that folks are so sure how popular abortion on demand (the pure pro-choice position) is, yet (legitimately?) fear that their state wouldn’t pass such a law. Even Roe (and Casey) SCOTUS abortion ‘rights’ rulings did not mandate abortion on demand - they recognized that allowing ‘reasonable restrictions’ based on the level of fetal development was an unavoidable ‘compromise’.

I'd like to introduce you to Rocky Giordani.

I actually MET him IN 1982 in a Venice biker bar and it turned out we knew a few of the same people.
He was what you might call an "enforcer" for a few not so savory enterprises in the area.
Don't take my word for it, call or visit the Morongo Casino out in the desert and I'm sure your inquiry will turn
out satisfactory.
In the 1990's Rocky "found the Lord" and turned his back on, to paraphrase Errol Flynn, "his wicked wicked ways" and in 2016 he decided to try running for President, quite the switch from biker gang enforcer.
So, my point is, if Rocky can move away from his original positions, I kinda think Joe Biden can, too.
Sorry to ruin your Gateway Pundit GOTCHA!!! moment.
Exactly how I feel about it. No one likes the idea of an abortion. But we learn to respect the rights of the women.Joe Biden is a devout Catholic and personally against abortion but he has come to accept the fundamental right of a woman to choose. That by the way would be me too.....well maybe not the devout Catholic part so much.
Incorrect, flip flopping doesn’t matter if it’s over decades. People and political platforms do change over time.Translation: flip flopping doesn't matter if they are currently supporting the position I agree with
He's already apologized to Anita Hill. He owes nothing to Thomas. The reality is he should never have allowed the confirmation. He screwed up and he knows it.Until Joe Biden apologizes for what he did to Clarence Thomas he hasn't moved on from anything

I wouldn’t fault some conservative politician for having a different POV on some topic in 1982 either. Honestly, it doesn’t bother me if a politician changes their opinion on something even from five years ago.
I had very different opinions on some things five years ago as well. Growing with more information is a strength.
In terms of the abortion thing, I see both sides of the issue and do not have a firm stance on it.
Reread the second and third blockWhat is the exact amount of time that a flip flop becomes irrelevant to you?
Until Joe Biden apologizes for what he did to Clarence Thomas he hasn't moved on from anything
Reread the second and third block
I don’t consider “flip flopping” to a huge thing anyway
I would say every five years or so I’ve probably changed a major position as I get more info, sure. That’s how people should be, able to grow as they learn. So 5 years? Why do you change your positions so often?
The culture was in a different place in 1982.
