So you were in a place like I was. I was in Mississippi in the late 60's and saw how the KKK influenced the whole place. So where were you? Also, where do I have go to see how the BBP influences the whole culture?

George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch crime captain who shot dead 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, originally told police in a written statement that Martin knocked him down with a punch to the nose, repeatedly slammed his head on the ground and tried to take his gun, a police source told ABC News.

Zimmerman had claimed he had called police about Martin, whom he found suspicious, then went back to his car when Martin attacked him, punching him.

This is Zimmerman's account of what happened. IF, and its a big IF, this is what happened, then I would agree with the self defense claim.

HOWEVER

This is completely contradictory to what the GF said she heard on the phone.

Both have a reason to lie.

But

In addition, an eyewitness, 13-year-old Austin Brown, told police he saw a man fitting Zimmerman's description lying on the grass moaning and crying for help just seconds before he heard the gunshot that killed Martin.

Why would a 13 year old kid lie? I had been arguing that this could not have been self defense, but as more information comes out, the more it sounds like it isn't clearly murder like I had thought.

If Z is just laying there and M has moved on, Z isn't defending himself anymore.

The one thing it does show, is that the parents are the only proven liars in this story, so far. There were also, apparently, more witnesses that confirmed Zimmerman's account to the police.

how does having marijuana residue make someone a badass or a thug? That is just ignorant. I suppose I am badass thug too because I certainly had some empty weed bags on my in high school. :roll:

No, I think it's probably more about the fact (backed up by Z and at least two witnesses) that he started the physical altercation with a punch, then jumped on him and started slamming his head agaisnt the concrete. That's just me though.

Awesome. Please direct us so that we can all see the the reports from the witnesses who saw who started the altercation.

Seems like a reasonable reason to defend ones self from someone who's been following Trayvon in the datk for no apparent reason and then is possibly reaching for a gun.

So when someones following you and he turns away to go back their vehicle, you punch them, jump on them and start slamming their head in the street? Someone needs some anger management. Jack Nicholson is probably offering some discounted rates.

The whole things from start to end?

We already knew that there were witnesses to the two of them fighting. That is corroboration. But, it's not corroborating who started it.

So, you don't know for sure that anyone else saw it start. You're basing your belief on the way the reporter phrased his copy.

You may be right. But I'm not nearly as convinced as if there was something that said someone else saw it start.

The story indicated that wintnesses (more then one) corroborated the account. They didn't say part of the account. However, if you don't like the wording or think the reporting is incorrect, take it up with the reporter. For now, it's what we have.
