Come on people! It's to fight lukemia and they raise millions each year!
 
Rush just gave $250,000. but probably only because he's a mean racist.
 
I do not like Rush, but it is certainly a worthwhile cause and he gets credit for working for a good cause.

There's a reason I respect you. I was waiting for someone to go full partisan and try to insert a "yeah but", I'm glad that so far I was wrong. It's a great cause.

Somehow I'd guess it's because an addict has a choice to become an addict or not, cancer doesn't give you that choice.
 
I try not to assign ulterior motives to charitable causes unless there's evidence for that. This isn't going to make me like Rush Limbaugh but clearly this is not something he should be attacked over.

Where did you get that the Obamas donated almost 2 million last year?

They made 5.5 million and you think they donated almost half to charity?

They paid 1.7 million in taxes.

I think you had better look up your facts.

Nope, I am a Rush fan, it's a good show. But if the Obamas donated to charity, as long as they are legit and help people good on them.

The Obamas bequeathed $329,100 to charitable trusts in 2009 and also contributed the whole of his $1.4 million Nobel Peace Prize award to 10 charitable associations and among their altruistic gifts were $50,000 each to CARE and the United Negro College Fund.

Let's do the math. That's 1,829,000 buck-a-roos. Pretty damn close to 2 mil, wouldn't ya say?

Obama May Not Be Able To Keep $1.4M Nobel Cash - Taking Liberties - CBS News

I was a little off on the issue of could he accept the prize, had to do with needing congress's permission to accept the prize and money. I'd cut and paste the relevant parts but that CBS site caused my browser to crash... moving ads.

Besides, every President that I can find, gave the money away if he won in office. So... by tradition, he HAD too. So I'm really not seeing that money as, anything less then free charity money he got.

Just sayin, if it had been Bush, I'd feel the same way.
