I always sit with my legs crossed, even if I'm at home,it's second nature. It could be b/c it's the most comfortable sitting position or b/c it's ''ladylike'' but 99% of the time, if I'm in a chair I'm sitting with crossed legs. It's one of those things you don't think about..... until you have a convo with a friend who recently lost weight. My friend(well more like acqaint.) has lost about 30 pounds and she says this is the first time she's ever been able to cross her legs. She explained that it feels so good...so 'feminine'. It's weird, something that millions of people do everyday without thought, others do it and it becomes much bigger to them. I also have to admit that I do cringe when I see a woman sitting with her legs wide open. Shudder....

We have lost much etiquette, sadly.
How often do you hear "excuse me" when someone steps in front of you, or even bothers to notice they near run you over in the store?
How many people even have an idea about proper table manners, how to speak, when to speak, or sit appropriately?
Its refreshing that few still mind their manners, instead of competing for the " I am the rudest and I don't give a rip award". Thank you.

I guess I'm really not that fat, after all. I always cross my legs when I'm sitting. Though, admittedly, I sometimes cross them at the ankles and then sit on my feet, which is somehow even less modest than a pro-athlete sprawled on the bench.

It's funny. If I'm in a store and I have to cross somebody's path to get to what I need, I always say "excuse me". Half the time I get a snort, a huff, or a weird look. I guess manners have deteriorated so much that people don't even recognize them anymore.

Sheesh. Just look at this board. You say something inoffensive that someone doesn't agree with and they call you stupid or an idiot or worse.

I rarely cross my legs because I have a slight curvature at the base of my spine that would be exacerbated by sitting unevenly in line with having my legs crossed. I catch myself occasionally sitting with one leg folded under me, which I also try to avoid. Generally, I sit with my legs crossed at the ankle in front of me or feet flat and touching.

I say kick back and air it out, give it a scratch. Tess' avatar is looking at me, haha.

I had to learn how to sit with my legs crossed after I hurt my knee. It was the only position I could sit in that didn't start to hurt after a minute or two.

Never

1) I have big thighs-years from being a competitive athlete

2) i have sore knees-osteoarthritis-see above

3) I don't wear skirts

Never really thought about it, but yeah, obviously.

Sometimes I do.

Sometimes I don't.

I have always found it odd to see men sit with their legs crossed. I've always found the pressure this puts on my testicles to be to great to handle.

quit bragging dude!

I cross my eyes,

and I cross my fingers,

and I cross my arms,

and I cross my legs.

Sometimes all at once , sometime not, but, only when I am driving.

You're supposed to let your man parts hang down before crossing your legs. I'm amazed you didn't know this:roll:

I do, but only the "man cross". I will never understand how a guy can sit with his legs all cinched up like a lady.

This one is correct. Comfortable, airy, with room for your package to breathe and roam.

This one? No way. Aside from how uncomfortable that's gotta be on the luggage, it's also just weirdly effeminate. I'm sorry, but this dude may as well be sitting down to pee.

That second guy, I think, is Jared Leto. He does look oddly feminine in that picture. Look at his posture, the way he's holding his hands in his lap. I don't know -- compare that picture to the picture I posted of Michael Corleone (Pacino). Two totally different poses. Corleone looks dangerously masculine, and dead sexy - like hot in a way that you'd give up your entire world to become a mafia wife. The picture of Jared Leto makes me want to take him shopping with me for shoes and Coach purses.

My wife tends to sit indian style on chairs and what not, so her legs are crossed and not crossed at the same time.

(scary canned theremin music)

I always get a "oh, sorry!" but then again, I am an ogre sized person.

How can they recognize what they have no idea about?

Eh, I dunno. They look exactly the same to me, except that Pacino is leaning back and looking way more confident and powerful. But that's because he's the freakin Don. His leg cross in and of itself still looks really girly, to me.

depending on the chair, i usually cross my legs. i'm trying to do it less while driving, however.
