Look up the words 'lend' & 'lease'. How were you giving up treasures ? Your arms companies were simply making a fortune selling us arms for which we paid, albeit through lend lease agreements which makes no difference.
No disrespect for the dead. Those young men that gave their lives, but you didn't sacrifice blood until the Japs & Hitler declared war on you. US blood was shed to serve US interests.

Not to mention the fact that FDR was itching to get in the war that's why he issued the oil embargo against Japan knowing full well that they would have no other recourse but to attack. No because Pinochet was the answer to the fascist Allende. If there had been a Pinochet strongman in Germany at the time of Hitler he would never been allowed to destroy the Weimar Republic as Allende attempted to destroy the Chilean Republic. Just as Hitler did not rule Germany for all Germans so to did Allende not rule Chile for all Chileans. If Hitler had been taken out by Rommel with U.S. support you'de probably be crying how the U.S. supported the overthrow of an elected official just because he was a socialist. It's not how a leader comes into power that makes him a tyrant it's what he does once he obtains that power and make no mistake about it Allende was a fascist, Pinochet was a dictator yes but dictatorship does not always equate to fascism sometimes in order to preserve Democracy in a Republic against a threat; such as, socialist revolution broader authority must be given to the Government and a strongman is needed it was like that way in Chile, it was like that way in Peru, it's been that way since ancient Rome.

It's sort of a lesser of two evils kind of a deal if Allende had been allowed to retain power he would have done ireprable damage to the Chilean Republic just as Castro has done to Cuba but now Chile is free and prosperous while Cuba is mired in authoritarian rule and poverty.

True. But what if America needed Britain and Russia. America couldn't have took on the full strength of the Nazi war machine and Japan at the same time. WW2 was a collective effort, and thank god, coz we won it by only the skin of our teeth.

I would agree with this.
We should have been in it earlier, but with our isolationism and all....
and while every American is proud of the role we played in WW II, it most definitely was not solely an American Victory. We played an integral role, but i wonder if our presence would have been so important if we were in it from the get go.
But i would like to say that when americans brag about our Role in WW II, most will agree that we were not the sole reason for winning
