It's political malpractice for Democrats to side with male-to-female transgendered women in women's sports. You can say that there are not that many male-to-female transgender athletes, but there are not many top tier athletes period. By definition, a top tier athlete is a 1 in a million athlete.

Over 1500 men have ran a 4 minute mile. Not one woman in history has. The world record vo2 max for a man is 96, for a woman it is 77. The world record squat for a man is 1080 pounds, for a woman it is 570 pounds.

The legislation that was vetoed by Gov Cox was the banning of trans kids from high school sports.

Looking into the issue, and realizing that the suicide rate of trans kids is high, banning them from participation in an activity that gives them community and purpose was a harsh measure given that there were a total of four out of 70,000 kids that are trans athletes in his state and only one of them is trans female.

Now if the opposition to trans athletes were to be offering a solution to the outrage other than outright banning and shitting on trans kids for votes… then sure let’s talk.

But all I see is the age old trope of protecting the women from predatory men story that plays very well in certain circles.

Just because the cultural right supports something for all the wrong reasons does not mean that it is not a problem. There are close to 2 million transgender Americans. I believe they should have all the protections from discrimination as anyone, but if you have an unfair advantage in many women's sports, then you have an unfair advantage. It is that simple.

As I pointed out in a different thread on this subject, when I went on testosterone cypionate, I quite competing in races because I had an unfair advantage. Frankly, the fact that Lia Thomas decided to compete in women's swimming tells me that she lack's personal integrity because she has a clear unfair advantage.

Not a ban but requiring trans high school athletes to participate in high school sports based on their sex not on their gender identity. This comes down to puberty-based sex differences in size, strength, and other differences already mentioned in this and other threads.
I don't support this type of legislation. It is better handled on an individual basis. It's not simple. It does require good faith and open discussion to try to come up with solutions that are fair, safe, and as inclusive as possible. Also, there is a difference between sports in school vs competitive professional sports vs collegiate sports. Again, it's more complicated than simple political slogans.

The vast majority of individuals have an objection ONLY when it comes to competitive sports, and almost specifically when it comes to MtF trans athletes competing against biological women because biological men are built stronger, faster, bigger, etc than biological women. Do as Lia did initially and swim on the team of the gender that matches their biology? Biological women compete in men's sports on rare occasions...MTF trans athletes can compete on the men's team and still identify as a woman. No one says that the women on men's football teams aren't women, do they?

That is a problem when taking performance enhancing drugs - testosterone. He now competes with men which is correct. Mack has no biological advantage over males.
