Were I running the state of Massachusetts (or any state, for that matter), I would mandate that every courtroom in the state provide an office for the exclusive use of ICE and other immigration law enforcement officials to be used upon request. I would additionally mandate that when any state judge or DA office learns an accused is in the country illegally they would be obligated to contact ICE within 24 hours and provide ICE with a full schedule of the accused's court proceedings, describing the time and place of the accused's availability.

This would resolve hundreds of cases a year before they tie up the state court system.

Yes, it is my opinion that MA officials actively avoid working with immigration officials in order to prevent illegal immigrants (and even some who are convicted criminals) from being deported. There is ample evidence supporting this opinion.

None, but I do volunteer with charities that do exactly that. Rather than cram people into single occupancy units, the groups I help work with landlords willing to help provide units in their multifamily homes so they get settled.

Boston ICE had similar success, and it's really exposing the dark side of blue state sanctuary policies. One deportee from Boston had -- I kid you not -- 17 convictions on various assault, battery, weapon, and drug charges. Think about that for a second, this man was:

1. In the country illegally
2. Tried and convicted on 17 felony charges, many of them violent crimes.
3. Inexplicably, walking the streets of Boston.

This is how warped the left's thinking on immigration policy has become. After, say, the first conviction of a violent crime, no one -- not the cops, not the DA, not the judge -- decided to act on the thought "Maybe we should call ICE on this one?"

Dereliction of duty doesn't even begin to describe the MA justice system in this matter, and it sounds like MA does not stand alone in this regard.

Its a start...but considering the Biden administration brought in anywhere from 15-25 MILLION illegal immigrants, even if they caught deported 50 a day for 4 years we are only talking 75,000+ illegal immigrants.

I think they should focus on the criminal illegal immigrants, securing the border, and work on streamlining a guest-worker program that gives people protected legal status. Give people up to a year to self identify. Everyone caught after that...gone. And put the financial burden of reinforcement on business entities that knowingly hire illegal and undocumented immigrants.
