Featuring President Bill Clinton and Mothers of the Movement
Tuesday: A Lifetime of Fighting for Children and Families
Gavel time expected at 4:00pm
Tuesday will feature the roll call vote and how Hillary has spent her entire career working to make a difference for children, families, and our country. The Mothers of the Movement participating include Gwen Carr, Mother of Eric Garner; Sybrina Fulton, Mother of Trayvon Martin; Maria Hamilton, Mother of Dontré Hamilton; Lucia McBath, Mother of Jordan Davis; Lezley McSpadden, Mother of Michael Brown; Cleopatra Pendleton-Cowley, Mother of Hadiya Pendleton; Geneva Reed-Veal, Mother of Sandra Bland.
Democratic convention speakers: Obama, Sanders, Biden, Bill Clinton
This is offensively disingenuous. How stupid do they want to tell us they think we are? The premise here is "fighting for children, families and our country". The "Mothers" invited to participate are the mothers of black people who are dead at the hands of police (except the one who died at the hands of a white man which brought about a controversial discussion about the FL stand your ground laws and a girl who was shot by a gang member at Obama's inauguration party).
Why aren't the mothers of any of those 5 innocent policemen participating? How about the mothers of children who died of cancer? Mothers of white children who died of congenital malformations? Mothers of white children from the Appalachian Mountains who are starving? How about bringing in some mothers of first generation Indian children who are succeeding in school, and have them share how they have managed to make a difference in our country? How about showing how they are fighting for my children?
That doesn't mean Martin was the aggressor and got himself killed. Are you suggesting every case that is heard and the jury says not guilty means the person charged is innoncent and was never the aggressor? I hope not because that's seriously inaccurate.
Yes, that's a fact. Evidence of "injuries" is not that sam as "aggressor" the while time. If you would like proof of that I can give you a million scenarios that show your opinion and assumption is wrong. Do you understand how facts and evidence work and what we are discussing? I'm asking you not to be a smart ass but because you have referred to the verdict a couple times already which has nothing to do with this discussion or your statement. The statement you made was simply your opinion, one you are welcome too. I have no idea why that is upsetting you or you are denying it but it is reality.
Will you please stop derailing my thread with this?
Never said that. Speaking of strawmen...
That "he was the aggressor the whole time" is not provable, however, he damn sure got himself shot and killed. To prevent derail, that's the last post for me on Zimmerman.
Bill Clinton and mothers. :2rofll: I don't know that I've ever heard of Bill fighting for mothers, though we all know he fights with mothers when he needs them to get nekkid and show him some support.
Yes, it is all one big sham and it is disgusting. At the same time though you have to wonder. We had dinner Friday night with close friends we've known for over 20 years. We get together often. They are black.
We have never had much conversation about black/white issues because we have too many other things we enjoy talking about. We are all Bernie fans and have been since he first announced his campaign. We naturally talked politics a little bit.
Talking about Trump and Pence and then Hillary and Bernie. The wife of the couple who are our friends brought up the subject of black females supporting Clinton, "The thing that I cannot understand is why black women support Hillary?" We talked about it and they were are pretty much clueless as we were and in some cases for different reasons. Bill was no real friend to black Americans when he was President. A number of things Bill supported and/or advocated impacted black people negatively. The Clinton PR machine flogged that "first black President" hype like an army mule. It was of course bull****. Most black people saw it as bull****. And then Bill proved it was bull**** by screwing over black people.
Now Bill wants to "help" mothers and children. Not bloody likely. It's a scam. Bill Clinton, the Pied Piper, drops another turd in the punchbowl.
Thank you for understanding my OP (and for wanting to discuss it and not Trayvon Martin). You are exactly 100% in sync with me. This is weak, dishonest, and sickening that the DNC is using their platform to go down this path.
I'm very sorry for, for example, the loss that Eric Gardner's mother suffered. Losing a child is a terrible thing. My husband's brother died when he was 16 and my in laws never recovered from it. But to have his mother at the DNC, and when the theme is about families, children, and the country? What in the name of anything does Eric Gardner's death have to do with that? You're right, why not analyze why so many black children are born to single mothers, or why so many children in Chicago are killed by other blacks? Where are the mothers of all of the blacks killed by other blacks in 2016?
I find it horrific that the Clintons are doing this.
By the way, speaking of the Dallas police chief, I really like that guy. I never knew of him until last week. What an amazing person.
That "he was the aggressor the whole time" is not provable, however, he damn sure got himself shot and killed. To prevent derail, that's the last post for me on Zimmerman.
The thread's goin' off the rails on a crazy train.
Will you please stop derailing my thread with this?
I'm going to go outside for a while. Unplug, as it were.
The more I see, the more concerned I get. So, I'm outta here for a little while.
Thank you for starting this thread though. This... THIS... is what we should be discussing if we want to get to the root cause of our racial unrest and the real social problems of this country.
CYA later.
Feel free to tell the other two people also, thanks.
The people invited are Mothers of the Movement. You said they where BLM. That is no straw man.
Then I guess your issue is solved then unless you choose to make yet another post about it.I did, and the others already apologized for doing so and stopped it. I suggest you do the same since this thread is not about Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman. If you want to discuss them, then please start a thread.
I really want to talk about day 2 of the convention and not ****ing Trayvon Martin.
This thread is also proving precisely the reason why I can not for the life of me understand why Hillary Clinton is having ****ing Trayvon Martin's mother (as well as most of those other mothers) as a show and tell display at the DNC.
It's not surprising. She's tapping into the knee-jerk, race-baiting population who believe that anytime a black person is killed by a white person, it's automatically racism and murder. She's catering to the low-information, media-tit-sucking morons of the country.
The people invited are also all black mothers whose children were killed by non-black people (I'm assuming --- I'm not up to date on the details of some of those people). Of course they are part of Black Lives Matter --- that's what the group was started for. And, no, I never said the group "Mothers of the Movement" is "Black Lives Matter", although they are very closely related. Please stop pestering with stupid comments and actually discuss the topic.

You are white. White supremacist groups where started for whites. Therefore you are a white supremacist. You really should think these arguments through before making them. You are smarter than this.
Meh.
Hard to get excited either way about anything the princess does.
It's going to be a boring and stagnating 8 years, if she gets in.
Hopefully she'll only get 1 term.
Isn't she in her 70s already? I think Trump or Hillary will only do one term.
OMG. There's something seriously wrong with you.
Since you missed it Redress was using YOUR argument of association against you. Redress was pointing out your claim is just as sound as the white supremacy claim. Neither are sound and Redress thinks you are smarter than that.
