They are for fighting against a wall, encouraging Caravans, getting rid of ICE, have sanctuary cities, a sanctuary state, allow illegals to get driver's licenses, allow them to vote in local elections, and give illegals free healthcare up to and including both California and New York City now wanting to do single payer healthcare and specifically allowing it to cover illegals. Now please explain to me how Democrats are not for open borders. Everything they stand for encourages illegal immigration.

Open borders means no immigration policy at all, just open the floodgates.

No one of the left is for that, so quit repeating this lie. Yes, we are more compassionate to immigrants. Repubs hate brown people, its' as obvious as hell. the purpose of sanctuary is to disallow police officers from reporting undocs to immigration authorities if they call the cops for being robbed, attacked etc. It's a point of compassion, given that if we remove the sanctuary, criminals can rob, attack illegals with impunity. It's cruel to take away sanctuary status. That doesn't mean they are protected from being deported by immigration officials. However, that is what repubs thinks it means. It doesn't.

Almost half of illegals are visa overstays, and most of those are from Canada, but we dont see repubs whining about them, perhaps because they are not brown.

You think people who don't pay attention to politics are thinking "why isn't Pelosi compromising?" when the one thing everybody knows is Trump says he's the world's best negotiator and always gets what he wants. We are currently about to be in a position where we will be in need of home health care aide services due to the fact that my disabled Navy veteran wife is sick again, AND my son is also at UCLA Hospital with a pretty severe case of congestive heart failure.
Being that it's a two hour drive to UCLA sometimes, and being that my wife's mobility may not be possible sometimes while our son is so ill, we will need that kind of services, which are contracted out by the government to private companies.

But I guess we shouldn't mind if my son becomes critical and we can't make it to the hospital. He can just die alone, no problem.

Think I am joking? I'm not, I assure you. I thought about keeping this to myself but screw it, people need to see the stupidity of shutting down the government firsthand.



We might not be able to get the kind of help we need, which the VA is happy to cover, if there isn't any way to pay the needed contract personnel.
