Clinton, Trump Agree to First 2016 Presidential Forum Focusing on Veterans, National Security

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump will appear at a Commander-in-Chief forum to discuss national security, military affairs and veterans issues in a primetime event announced Thursday by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.

The presidential candidates will appear back-to-back in the one-hour event on September, 7, hosted by the IAVA and simulcast by NBC and MSNBC. The two candidates will answer questions from NBC News and an audience that includes military veterans and active service members.

"IAVA members world-wide, 93% of whom say they'll be voting in November, and many deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan right now, are ready to hear from the candidates and hold them accountable," Paul Rieckhoff, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of IAVA, said in the announcement.

I have my screen enlarged so much tonight that the thread title if this thread, on the main home page, had been cut off and I thought at first glance that it said this: "Clinton, Trump Agree to Fist..." which I was praying meant a fist fight, rather than something a little less than family friendly. I was relieved when I opened this thread to realize I had misread the word "First." Very relieved.

Good? My question is if you can bulk purchases of barf bags on Amazon. I'll need it to get through that debate. I still pause every time I hear "Clinton vs Trump." It just... Ugh, god. Trump is joke, and it's embarrassing personally and nationally that he has made it to become a mainstream candidate; we lower ourselves every time we treat him like he's a serious candidate for the office of president of the United States. But Hillary just can't stop rubbing our noses in how much of a corporate tool she is, so every time I try to settle into voting for her, she reverts back to her true nature and does something like get a corporate lobbyist hired to a major position in her administration, or hires, endorses, and campaigns for DWS. Hillary and Trump are such unbelievably capricious assholes in their own distinct ways, it's just not fathomable.

Both Hillary and Trump are like obstinate, mischievous dogs; you know that if you stop watching them even for a minute, they're going to start ****ting all over the floor.

We're now locked into four more years of "Stay the course!" Usually I just have to force myself to stop thinking about it. The people who voted for Hillary and Trump should be ashamed of themselves, frankly. I like this article. There's still a huge part of me that just wants to vote for Stein, just because the strongest sentiment I have is I object, and I will not consent.

The only solace that I might be able to find out of this is that Trump may actually implode the entire Republican party by losing the House and giving Dems a veto-proof majority. When that happens, it will open the door for Sanders supporters #DemExit'ing their way into a third party.

I don't think it's a debate ... each candidate gets a half hour, I assume without the other present.

That's true. I don't even get to look forward to them insulting each other on national television.

Two fraud packed infomercials for useless junk back to back. But wait! There is more.... ;)

There will likely be plenty of that based on what goes on in either's campaign events now.

Either way it'll be historic, I hope they grind it out, get visceral, what does it mean, back to back? Are they sitting with their backs to each other? Does one go for a half hour and then the other?

Bingo.

Too bad, I would rather they had space they could lunge at each other in, they could have the first Presidential boxing match.

Well, the debates just fell 8 or 9 rankings (10) in importance to me about the elections, good thing, they're not telling us who's going first any wagers?

Yeah that's how it sounds. I don't see how this would be all that interesting.
