Can we really trust the mail in vote process as it stands?

Absentee ballots don't have to be received by election day. In Colorado, mail in ballots have to be in the hands of the officials by 7:30pm on election day. If they aren't, the votes don't count.

So...Colorado treats mail in votes as no different that in-person votes at the polls. States that use the absentee system will be getting...and counting...ballots for a week or more.

I'll try. As far as I know, absentee ballots are issued upon request. They are given to those who are unable to vote in person, are in the service of their country or maybe traveling on Nov 3 among other valid reasons. Mail-in ballots are indiscriminately mailed to the masses regardless of need. That list also includes the dearly departed. It is also mailed to the wrong address and no one can guarantee these ballots are not used fraudulently. It is a bad idea, period.

Do you support President Trump suggestion people vote twice. Once by mail and once in person. Seems to be that is encouraging people to break the law.
 
If you can't trust the president, how are you supposed to trust anything in this country?

What date/ time is the deadline for absentee ballots in Colorado for the upcoming election?

All states should use the automated signature checks. That would prevent fraudulent use by strangers since a stranger should have no clue what a previous resident's signature looked like. Forgeries by family would very likely also be caught since the same system is used by banks and other important document checking.

I have voted by mail numerous times. This is not new.

Trump and ALEC, the libertarians and fundamentalists are committing a crime known as voter suppression.

Trump quite recently committed another crime encouraging North Carolina voters to vote twice = makes him guilty of conspiracy to commit a crime.

Voting by mail has been around a while.

Your issue seems to be with how they are distributed and nothing about the laws,process and procedures. Are mail in ballot envelopes different than absentee ballot envelopes?

Sorry. Since you object to mail in ballots, I must made the assumption you don't believe in the results. So I will ask it this way:

When mail in ballots are used in an election do you stand by the results of the election? Yes or No.

The reason I ask is if you accept the results in 2016, then what is your problem in 2020?

I hate what Trump does, and am proud to be named a liberal with socialist tendencies. In a few hours I will drive my socialist-regulated vehicle to a socialist subsidized hospital for a procedure involving drugs approved by the socialist FDA, with the bill paid for by socialist Medicare. When I return, I will check to see if my Social(ist) Security check has been deposited.

I would be happy to participate in the destruction of our great country, except socialism/liberalism has already “destroyed” it, and most of us seem to approve. Even Trump does, as he will unveil his replacement for Obamacare any day now. On the other hand, you may prefer to have worked in the 1890s, before Teddy R started all this socialist nonsense. Of course you could move to Canada or Europe if you disapro... oops! They are even more socialist!

Sounds like good software depending on the cost factor. Wait just a minute! Won't work for the politicians because it might be a common-sense solution. But then again if their brother in law can make a buck on it, go for it. Yes, I hate all politicians. Why? Because every decision made by career politicians is based on what is best for themselves, their career, their pocket, and the bidding of lobbyists. We the people are an afterthought.

I believe that everything you mentioned is paid for with taxes or payroll deductions which are imposed on our citizens. There is no free lunch.
