I don’t think they will do it. Not for documents.
The documents case will be a slam dunk. It is the easiest case to bring and prove. There is nothing political about it: Trump took the documents, did not return them when asked and failed to comply with a subpoena. His obstructing the 2020 election process is a bit trickier, but I suspect he faces charges on both fronts.
Again, it would be a dereliction of duty to their oaths of office to look the other way on this and not prosecute.
