Hopefully, you have lots of family and acquaintances who well understand, respect, and would never "get rid" of worn flags in any manner other than via proper methods. However, your comment makes me wonder if maybe you might not.Burning and then burying the ashes is one of the few ways an old flag is supposed to be retired. I'm gonna bet at some of the anti flag burners either don't have one or if they do just toss old ones in the trash or do something else similarly disrespect to get rid of old flags.
I can speak only to my family - brothers and cousins - and yes they do. What of it?Hopefully, you have lots of family and acquaintances who well understand, respect, and would never "get rid" of worn flags in any manner other than via proper methods. However, your comment makes me wonder if maybe you might not.
This country has a deeply unsettling number of very anti-American people residing in it at present.
Because if you get a bunch of people in a group, statistically, some will be stupid. Why do people burn the flag of the nation that they have left everything to be part of, yet parade and wave the flag of the country that they are resisting going back to?
"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals, and you know it.." --- Agent K, Men in BlackBecause if you get a bunch of people in a group, statistically, some will be stupid.
Doing one or the other may, indeed, represent what you say. However, doing both in the same event shows a preference for one over the other.Because one can leave a nation and not their culture, effectively bringing their culture with them and use a flag to celebrate that culture.
And because they can burn a US flag because part of being an American is being allowed to signify a problem with the US by using free speech to burn the flag to show protest.
What I usually conclude when a peaceful protest moves toward rioting and the burning of the American flag is that the protestors are either (1) being used by anti-American organizations or, (2) are part of such organizations.Folks like you automatically assume two erroneous things. First, you mistakenly believe that any time someone burns the US flag, that they hate America, which is rarely true
I don't forget it at all. My own history comes from several countries, as does that of my wife. I respect each of those cultural contributions to America, and believe that the lawful amalgamation of all of those cultures is the strength of the country.Second, you forget that being American means you live in a nation of multiple, different cultures from other lands. The culture of America is derived from all of those cultures.
Why do people burn the flag of the nation that they have left everything to be part of, yet parade and wave the flag of the country that they are resisting going back to?
To have enlisted in the military, they must have been here legally.

Veterans may also be criminals. The government ROUTINELY deports veterans.
Being in the country as a guest and being a veteran isn't a get-away-with-crime-free card. THAT would be bullshit.Which should be a hint to you that the entire system is bullshit.
It's an honor to be considered outed by any person who fully supports burning the American flag just because they think the worst people in America (in their opinion) are those who wouldn't like or agree with burning our American flag. That's utterly disgusting, TheDoctorWasin! It sure makes me ponder the actual "worst" people in America and with complete disgust!
Way to out yourself.

"Cry" about or because of someone like you've shown you are, based on the comment you posted - would never be the reaction I'd have to such a person. I already expressed the immediate and clear reaction your comment brought to me, multiple times now.
You just can't stop proving my point for me, can you?
Please, feel free to cry about it some more. This is just the sort of butthurt I enjoy.
Why do people burn the flag of the nation that they have left everything to be part of, yet parade and wave the flag of the country that they are resisting going back to?
Nobody is saying they can't. But we're talking about people that don't belong here but most of us don't want here shitting on the country again they want to be in.They can do as they wish. Its that whole freedom thing.
Which conflict? There are multiple conflicts going on.
Usually flags get burned in protest of wars that are seen as unjust and result in huge casualties of both military and civilians. It is strange that you see burning a flag as the greater offense. It's an honor to be considered outed by any person who fully supports burning the American flag just because they think the worst people in America (in their opinion) are those who wouldn't like or agree with burning our American flag. People who burn the flag needs the first couple of words in the sentence did you not read?Who's they?
Sorry. I didn't think that was hard. "They" is the people who do both things.Who's they?
Specifically who is doing that? Why do people burn the flag of the nation that they have left everything to be part of, yet parade and wave the flag of the country that they are resisting going back to?
Sorry. I didn't think that was hard. "They" is the people who do both things.
Do you have an example of a person that does both things?Sorry. I didn't think that was hard. "They" is the people who do both things.
Not by name, no. Burning the flag is a fairly extreme thing to do, and I would think the people most disturbed by the efforts of the government would be those most affected by it. I could be wrong, of course. It could just be those who are tools of anti-American organizations, or ignorant people who think that it'll make the government change course.Do you have an example of somone who is resisting going back and burning the flag of the country they left everything to be a part of?
Do you have a picture of Cesar Chavez burning an American flag? How do you know that the people burning US flags weren't actually born here? I mean, I've never even been to Mexico but I've got a picture of Julio Cesar Chavez holding a Mexican flag for my profile pic
Not by name, no
Evidence?. Burning the flag is a fairly extreme thing to do, and I would think the people most disturbed by the efforts of the government would be those most affected by it.
you are.I could be wrong, of course.
