We spent 25years plus in the DC area, and have a lot of friends there

We just got back from a trip there looking at a business, and spent some time with a number of people we hadn’t seen in in a couple of years....mixed crowd....a lot of my cop friends, and their wives, and some people that work in various govt jobs

Treasury, labor, hud, etc....it was a mixed crowd, and opinions were mixed. Some blamed Trump, some blamed the dems...

I think that is what you will find in most places where intelligent people gather. They aren’t all one way or the other...

I think both sides are losing....But the biggest loser is us for voting any of these idiots in in the first place.

Right wing propaganda is very effective. Numerous people have been convinced the only two options are "open borders" and "two thousand mile concrete wall."
It literally doesn't occur to them that there are far more cost-effective ways to improve border security.

Can you imagine how many people will see their credit ruined due to the shutdown if it continues much longer? You can call your mortgage lender and explain to them what is going on and pay them once you are made whole at the end of the shutdown. The same is true with your auto lender and so on. They won't foreclose on your home or repossess your car until you get way behind, but they will still report your late payment to the credit agencies and you could easily see your score drop by way over a hundred points. That is the kind of stuff that doesn't get talked about or reported. Sure, few workers lose their home or see their cars repossessed because of this, but a lot of them sure see their credit ruined for years because of it.
