The one that I was in not only encouraged independent thinking, it demanded it.

Seems we were in the same military, probably in different branches. That said, today's military is not the same. You are not allowed to go to religious services, in fact chaplains are becoming like hens teeth, that is unless you're Muslim. Then there's those pesky R.O.E's that keep getting our men killed.

How can it be a lie? When you presumably served was there a DADT regulation? Was there chaplains around to get your TS card punched when you were in the sandbox for the short time the operation took place? Seems they're not there any longer. Were people discharged for homosexual activity?

So you are stating that it's a fact that there was a Don't ask, Don't tell policy when you or I were in the military. The other difference is that when I entered the military I was issued a serial number, NOT my Soc. Security #. There just happens to be a little difference in the time of service too. I served ten years more than likely before you were born. So don't tell me the military didn't change especially in the last ten years since you were discharged. You can claim that I lie but in your heart you know I'm right. BTW moderators are also looking at what you are writing just like shrubnose.
