MSNBC said:British singer Amy Winehouse was reportedly found dead in her home in north London, Sky News reported. She was 27.
In June, the Grammy Award winner had checked out of a treatment program in London. Her spokesman Chris Goodman had said the entertainer had been looking forward to touring Europe this summer.
RIP Amy, I did enjoy her music.Singer Amy Winehouse found dead - Entertainment - Music - TODAY.com
Anyone surprised? To me this headline is akin to a headline that read: "Fat man found with jelly donut".
Somehow I'm sure her death was not due to "natural causes." I found her music to be moribrund and her life story TSTL. RIP Amy.
Always shocking to see someone that young die, but I guess there's another member of Club 27, that unfortunate list.
Very sad story, very great waste of a wonderful musical talent.
BBC News - Amy Winehouse found dead, aged 27
Her Back to Black album was one of the best recordings of the past decade, but it seems that psychological demons and addictions got the best of her. I'm very sad at this news. She gave a lot of people a great deal of pleasure.
I found her music moribrund and contemptuous. I wasn't a fan and I like all sorts of music - in fact there's very little I don't like. Personal tastes perhaps... and certainly a reflection on one's short life - but really.... this wasn't forseen? @phattonez "Always shocking".... really? I posted this story almost the same time as Andalublue... I characterize it as shocking as: "Fat man found with jelly donut".
It's sad. She was so incredibly talented. The talented ones always leave us too soon.
Tom Waits is still around.
At age 27, yeah it is. Most of the other people on Club 27 died of alcohol/drugs, and those were all shocking as well.
-- Do you think "Fat man found eating a jelly donut" is also shocking? See... I don't.
Somehow when a person has known drug problems, is viewed in public with those problems, goes to rehab multiple times and then is found dead at age 27... I'm going to go out on a limb here and say of an OVERDOSE, it's not shocking. It's a shame.. a waste .. even a pity. But not shocking.
Do you think "Fat man found eating a jelly donut" is also shocking? See... I don't.
Well, not ALL of the talented ones leave us too soon, thankfully.
