So you still have yet to comment on the story, and still continue to use the tragedy to score political points. Here, I will give you a comment, and show you what should be done at this point:
This situation is a tragedy, my hearts go out to the family and friends of those affected.
Good thing you guys are above using a ****ing tragedy to score cheap ****ing political points. It's good to know there are no depths some people will not ****ing stoop to. Keep up the good work.
who gave a gun to that guy?:shoot
Tell yourself what you want to but those hearings were about Trayvon Martin and giving into the mob that has been pushing it.
He may have purchased it legally or it may be illegally obtained. We have yet to see.
if he bought it legally it is the real problem ,this world is turning into a gun paradise
You have a very low opinion of me, Redress. I guess I can't help that. But sure wish you'd keep it to yourself. If you don't want to comment on the Breaking News, may I suggest you, ah, move along?

OAKLAND, Calif. — Police in California say seven people have died in a shooting attack at a Christian university.
Spokeswoman Cynthia Perkins confirmed the death count Monday afternoon. She did not release any other details about the victims, but said city officials planned a news conference later.
Earlier in the day, police detained a person believed to be responsible in the shooting at Oikos University. They have not released the person's identity or discussed a possible motive.
A gunman opened fire at a Christian university in California Monday, killing at least six people and wounding three more, authorities said. Police say they have a suspect in custody.
The shooting erupted around midmorning at Oikos University in Oakland and left six dead, according to City Council President Larry Reid, who said he was told the count by the police chief.
Police believe the shooter acted alone, Reid said. Authorities have not discussed a possible motive.
The suspect was taken into custody in the neighboring city of Alameda, according to law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.
Officer Johnna Watson did not give any other details about the suspect.
Authorities earlier described him as a heavyset Korean man in his 40s wearing khaki clothing.
"I can confirm that we do have one person who has been detained that we believe is possibly responsible for this shooting," Watson said.
KTVU-TV reported that the shooter was a student and opened fire in a classroom.
Earlier, television news footage showed a chaotic scene as heavily armed officers swarmed into the building, located in a large industrial park near the Oakland airport.
The footage also showed bloodied victims on stretchers being loaded into ambulances. Several bodies covered in sheets were laid out on a patch of grass.
Pastor Jong Kim, who founded the school about 10 years ago, told the Oakland Tribune that the shooter was a nursing student who was no longer enrolled. He did not know if the shooter was expelled or dropped out.
Kim said he heard about 30 rapid-fire gunshots in the building.
"I stayed in my office," he said.
Deborah Lee, who was in an English language class, said she heard five to six gunshots at first. "The teacher said, `Run,' and we run," she said. "I was OK, because I know God protects me. I'm not afraid of him."
Angie Johnson told the San Francisco Chronicle that she saw a young woman leave the building with blood coming from her arm and crying: "I've been shot. I've been shot."
The injured woman said the shooter was a man in her nursing class who got up and shot one person at point-blank range in the chest before spraying the room with bullets, Johnson said.
"She said he looked crazy all the time," she said the victim told her, "but they never knew how far he would go."
According to its website, Oikos University offers studies in theology, music, nursing and Asian medicine. A telephone message left on the university's voicemail was not immediately returned.
Oh, now we have the pile-ons.
COMMENT ON THE FREAKIN' THREAD OR GO AWAY, DAMN IT.
I cannot believe that after over a year on this board anyone would think I'd post this thread as bait. Or to exploit dead students, for God's sake. You few make me sick. Especially Redress.
I actully have a high opinion of you, but I don't think this event deserves this kind of commentary yet. I further believe a lot of people will be trying to use this tradegy to further their political position, be in guns on campus or anti gun legislation.
So becasue different situations are different, you think it is ok to exploit a tragedy for political gain? Very ****ing nice.
Um, Maggie?
They ARE commenting on the thread.
Your only commentary in your OP was a potshot at Congress. Therefore, that is what YOU made the thread about. Whether you meant to or not, that is basically exploiting a tragedy.
You have said virtually nothing about the event itself. I hardly think it's out of line for people to debate you on the grounds that YOU set up in your OP.
Furthermore, this happened TODAY. What do you mean where are the hearings? The dust hasn't even cleared yet. We don't even know what caused the shooting, who the person was, or anything.
And finally, you saying there were hearings on Trayvon Martin is false and misleading, as someone else has already pointed out. It was a hearing on racial profiling.
Whether you intended to or not, you are indeed exploiting a tragedy based on disingenuous or mistaken premises and ridiculously unrealistic expectations.
That is what YOU made the thread about. You shouldn't complain when someone addresses you based on the premise YOU set up.
Good thing you guys are above using a ****ing tragedy to score cheap ****ing political points. It's good to know there are no depths some people will not ****ing stoop to. Keep up the good work.
Where are the Congressional hearings on this violence?
Then everyone should have a gun.
But I do think Congress should get involved. If they can get involved in steroids in baseball, if they can hold hearings about school bullying, they can hold hearings on what might be done to prevent kids getting killed in the classroom.
I guess everyone just thinks I should have posted, "What a shame."
Boo! I started a Breaking News thread. I agree with you that a lot of people will use this tragedy to further their anti-gun rants and allll the rest. But Congressional hearings...I mean why haven't they been done before? What more needs to happen to kids before Congress discusses those like they discuss steroids in baseball?
(And thank you. Right back atcha.)
For something that just happened today?
