I figured that was more a Tennessee thing. Why...are you wondering if they may be neighbors?

'She' is actually from Brazil. So...no...no familial relations.

well bedtime for me, looks like we dodged a bullet because the panthers look unstoppable.

Look at the replay again. His knee was down before the ball came out.

I saw it three times in slow motion. He wasn't "down" until after the ball came out. Good call challenging the play.

He got some ass in his paw.

No they look like they could be closely related.

It didn't look that way to me. I saw one of two outcomes: no catch or down by contact. Fumble was not in the cards at all. Anyway, moot point. Ruling on the field stood. Dumb challenge.

Carson is getting some dirty looks in the locker room.

Meh. 2013 Hawks were better. Just ask PM.

I would give the edge to the Broncos defense.

Seahawks had an above average QB in Russell Wilson and a pro bowl RB in Marshawn Lynch.

Broncos defense will truly be the best ever if they get it done.

He definitely tried too hard. It showed. What was the final pick-count? I switched over to watching my DVD of the old American Gothic series about 5 minutes into the second half.

I'll be pulling for Denver but...Carolina will probably win.

This is going to be one good superbowl. Carolina's defense can shut you down no doubt as seen in Seattle's rout with them. But they have that Achilles heal problem of shutting down in the second half.
Panthers' Jonathan Stewart reminds me of the old Kansas City Nigerian Nightmare Christian Okoye the way he just cuts through defenses.

For sentimental reasons it would be nice to see Peyton Manning go out winning a Superbowl. There is something very likeable about Peyton.

If the Pats took the FG's earlier instead of going on 4th down they may have only needed a FG on this last 2 minute warning drive. Instead they still need a TD and 2 points.

This is absolutely correct. I said the same thing last week about Seattle not taking points at the end of the first half that turned out to cost them the game. I don't understand why coaches don't just take the points with so much time left in a game. Belichick should be standing up and taking the blame for that lose, not the poor placekicker who makes one mistake in 10 years and is now left to take it all. Belichick, the "genius", either proved he had no faith in his offense or in Brady or he just plain blew it. Hell, a touchdown with a 2 point conversion only gets them a tie, so they needed two scores to win the game in any event. Just plain dumbass coaching and he should be called out on it but don't hold your breath waiting for the media to do it.

How so? It didn't have the potential to hurt them in any way.

I thought it was a stupid challenge to - it had the potential to have the refs reverse the call, call it a completed pass and down by contact and given the Patriots a first down inside the 5 yard line. There was zero chance they would reverse the call and then give Denver the ball. Fortunately, for them, the play stood as called.

I like Manning, I always have. And I always thought the criticisms of him winning only 1 SB were unfair. It's a team sport, and many teams he was on with the Colts were, except for him, bad teams.

So here he is, not nearly as good as he use to be, but on a team with a good, very good defense. Denver's D was all over Brady today. But anyway Manning's a shell of his old self, but in the SB. How about that? He's on a team with a defense and he's back in the SB.

A couple of things I'd note about the Brady/Manning comparisons. Brady has gotten his team to the AFC Championship game 10 times and won 6 of them while Manning's teams have gotten there 5 times and he's won 4 of them. Manning is also 3-2 head to head against Brady in playoff meetings. It could be argued that Manning has had the better career and been a clutch playoff performer, but he's been on lesser quality teams most of his career. People criticize Manning because his record in Foxboro is poor, but Brady's in Denver is no better. Both have been terrific QBs and as a diehard Pittsburgh fan I give grudging respect to both, equally.

I didn't watch the Arizona/Carolina game - can't stand the antics of Newton - and now I won't watch the Super Bowl. The man is an a-one jackass.

Some final thoughts on the AFC game - I'm biased, but I think Pittsburgh would have destroyed the Patriots team that showed up yesterday. Pittsburgh was by far the better team in their Denver game and Denver was by far the better team against the Patriots yesterday. Ifs and nuts, as the old saying goes, but I'm really looking forward to the start of next season when the Steelers will be healthy and no suspensions or other nonsense to get in the way.

To those with a rooting interest in the Super Bowl, have fun. I'll be otherwise occupied, perhaps watching the Raptors.

Yep...Peyton is the sentimental favorite. But, Wow! Carolina is really, really good.

SB will be Denver's league best defense against Panther's league best offense. Can't ask for more. I am curious to see if Newton can stay this hot and show up big in the big game. Peyton will probably approach it with a much more relaxed attitude than he did that debacle against Seattle. Should be an epic Super Bowl.

The Brady hate is illogical. No player plays the game with more class or grace.

But you have to understand in Jack Hays world - Brady = cheating jerk RG3 =classy saint.

RG3 is merely an unsuccessful QB. Brady is a highly successful cheater.

M seems to think if the pass was complete, it was a fumble. Not sure how he sees it that way. Replay clearly shows the knee on the ground before the ball came loose.

Brady's favorite target yesterday was the ground a few feet in front of his receiver. I was having Donovan McNabb flashbacks.

Meanwhile Carson Palmer did his best Jake Delhomme impersonation right in Delhomme's back yard.

I think Palmer is still hurt from the game against the Hawks. His hand is bothering his throws

Honestly I hope that is the reason. He's stunk up the place the last few games, he's been terrible. If an injury is the reason, then he deserves a break from the criticism.
