The 400 highest-earning households in the United States averaged nearly $345 million in 2007,
The rich need to send a message to the people that run this country and leaving is a great way to do it.
I support him in his move and wish him all the luck.
Let them them leave. There are plenty of people willing to take their place. Nobody's irreplaceable.
I heard about that @#$% Facebook founder who renounced his citizenship to avoid taxes. I think we should tell him, sure, he can avoid those taxes like that, but he's never allowed back into the country for any reason, no tourist visas, no business visas, nothing.
While illegal immigration is a crime under Title 8 Section 1325 illegal immigration for the first offense is punishable with 6 months in jail and fined between 50-250 dollars. So he would not be tossed into prison, unless this is his second time trying to sneak into the country which is then punishable with 2 years in prison. You would have to change the law to state that anyone who renounces their citizenship to avoid taxes and comes back illegally will be imprisoned until their pay back taxes. A citizen of another country who is not employed or self-employed in the US does not owe income taxes to the US, they pay income taxes to what ever country they are citizens of. So I do not think you can hold them for taxes they don't owe.Don't let him ever set foot onto American soil, and if he does, arrest him and put him in prison for illegal immigration. Make the fine for his release and deportation whatever amount of money his taxes as an American citizen would have been.

Banishment is not going to change these people. They used the "American dream" to get where they are, and now they want to discard this country like a used piece of toilet paper. Twenty years of hard labor in a penal camp should teach them the proper amount of respect for working people and the lower and middle class citizens of this country.

I agree with that. Those who renounce their citizenship should never be allowed back into the country again regardless of reason. If possible I think we should also ban American businesses from having anything to do with those that renounce their citizenship.

They are not required to respect anyone, only obey the laws. If they have done that, you have nothing to complain about.
Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin’s decision to renounce his U.S. citizenship just in time to avoid a large tax payment essentially means he will not be able to re-enter the United States again, immigration experts tell TPM.
He also renounced his guns citizenship and settled in Singapore. We welcome him.
Will you take that piece of **** Facebook with you too please?
We the people need to tell the rich..you want to be a pig at the trough sucking the life out of the country...GTFO take you money...get lost and you cant come back....the US would be ALL THE BETTER>..because there will always be a pig standing in line to get to the trough...but the new pigs will have something to worry about...and by pigs I dont refer to everyone who is rich...Pigs at the trough is a term I reserve for CEOs of corporations and the big bank criminal pigs...
Saverin is a co-founder, and I believe is Brazilian. So I doubt his allegiance to the US was that strong anyway. He won't be taking facebook since he doesn't control it.
He has since "explained" how his move is not about taxation... then went ahead and explained how it IS about taxation. Essentially, he failed at his spin attempt.I heard about that @#$% Facebook founder who renounced his citizenship to avoid taxes. Another brilliant libertarian "shoot ourselves in the foot" position. Let them suck off the American consumer's tit, then allow them to leave scot-free, then kid ourselves that their relative miniscule spending at some vague later date will make up for it.another brilliant liberal position. drive them out of the country by targeting them unfairly, then further harm the economy by not allowing the wealthy to visit here and spend money.

The uber rich wouldn't be leaving if we weren't subsidizing other countries security. Take Europe for instance, if we pulled out of Europe then European countries would have to drastically raise taxes to defend themselves, so the uber rich wouldn't be moving into European countries.
That goes for direct foreign aid and free trade as well. But hey, you guys want globalism, so don't complain when globalism happens.
If America abandoned globalism, the uber-rich would be crawling on their hands and knees to get their citizenship back, even with back taxes in hand.
