  • Tuck,
Read through our little heated drugs debate. To be quiet frank im pretty disgusted those words even come out of my mouth...or rather keyboard, and i wanted to say im sorry, for upsetting you. ive seen your posts aplenty round here, your a jolly and nice guy, it must take alot to bring a guy like you down, and i did because i was out of order. Im not asking for a "its okay" or for it to be brushed aside, just know i know i was out of order and i regret saying what i did.
I've not ever heard of any political theorist or major figure using that term in the sense that it's popularly understood, and instead see even informed opponents of the ideology disavowing that sort of usage. Christopher Hitchens, for instance, wrote that "Half-conceding the usefulness of chaos and misery in bringing this about, Bennet in his closing paragraph compares jihadism to 19th-century anarchism, which shows that he hasn't read Proudhon or Bakunin or Kropotkin either."

And he's correct. Proudhon called himself an "anarchist" in 1840 and advocated radically decentralized and participatory socialism in a tradition that predated Marxism, so the popular sentiment of self-described anarchists advocating chaos or disorder has 160 years of political history to contend with. I was pretty disgusted with the "Look at Somalia" responses that we see from the misinformed, and I don't think I've seen you doing that recently.
That's not what I meant. I think what you abandoned is the sentiment that there's no more to the ideology than "chaos" or "disorder" and that self-described anarchists who advocated decentralized and participatory direct democracy were confused or something.
The reply's completely lost; it looks like I'll have to write a new one...and I might be ready for that sometime around New Year. :2razz:

At any rate, I was glad to see you abandoning the earlier sentiment about anarchism involving chaos or disorder (a very basic and common fallacy, unfortunately) and an absence of social organization that you kept insisting was accurate about a year ago when I first came around. I'll confess to having once thought like that myself. :)
Del showed me her page and said that you taught her how to decorate it. that made her very happy. Simple kindnesses really turned her on. thank you for the sharing of your life with my Del. Alice (Del's wife)
hey Tucker! Hope all is well - Jackalope is trying to get into the Tiki bar - could you give him access please? Thanks....
LOL! Ok, if I ever have a problem with any of those topics, your da man....(o:
Hey Tucker! Not sure who else to ask, but it's in regards to my private messaging stats. I've sent many PM's to people, however, it still only shows one in my sent folder. I sent like five last night, and they are not there.....don't know if it's something you can fix, if not, could you let me know? Thanks!
Are you ready to go back to the division of labor in a communist economy subject if I reply soon?
I was checking out "who's online" and noticed that your name is colored now. Grats bro, do we get a round on the house?
I would think it could have the opposite effect. When women are bing oppressed, it's often not a good idea to call attention to them in such a public way. It's also pretty arrogant to think this will do anything towards solving the REAL problem. It's a knee jerk, feel good, political thing that has the potential to make these womens lives worse.
Good job on the burkha thread. I fail to see how imposing an unfair law on women who are already being oppressed is supposed to "free" them.
You sure have been having a lot of "accidents" lately ;)

Seriously, you're intelligent and funny...an excellent combination :)
