WSJ debunks O-3 Bobulinski

Yes, it is part of the employment package and works various ways. Your annuity can be a 401k or a pension, learn the difference

You draw that pension on top of that sweet government money and medical care... Sounds like a great version of socialism to me...

You guys keep trying to shift the date to 2017. The alleged corruption began while Joe was VP.

Bolulinski is talking about emails that reveal alleged corruption in 2017.
I go by what he says.

THe Senate MAJORITY (GOP) report did not provide evidence of Joe's corruption. You just replay old news...
If the evidence is that the exteded family had extensive business contacts while Joe was VP, then we can link every senator and every member of Trump's family to corruption.

You forgot about all the underage porn on the computer that Giuliani found a few days before the election.

I genuinely feel sorry for people so dumb they believe this garbage.
Let me know when the professional investigators tells us there's nothing to this story, and I don't mean the alleged "journalists" of the Dam Propaganda Ministry.

You can't possibly be a Trump supporter AND care about corruption. It's one or the other.

Hunter Biden got a job because he has a famous last name. So what?

Corruption is Donald Trump trying to coerce the Ukraine president to announce the opening of an investigation against Joe Biden.
That’s not what this report claims.
The documents—email exchanges between State Department staff members made public this week—show that the consulting firm, Washington-based Blue Star Strategies, used Hunter Biden’s name in a request for a State Department meeting and then mentioned him again during the meeting as part of an effort to improve Burisma’s image in Washington.

Mr. Biden was appointed to the Burisma board in 2014, when the company and its owner faced allegations of corruption, and he remained there until April of this year.
It helps when that famous last name is attached to a sitting VP.

What you quote is called lobbying. That is what everybdy does. That is why even retired generals are hired by companies. Having people with connections, opens doors but a request of that sort is not a crime unless we decide to criminalize lobbying in general. In addition of a request for a meeting , one needs to show that the request was granted and that a politician chose to show favoritism at the expense of public interest. With Biden, it is clear that his activities in Ukrraine were aligned with official objectives set my the president. And those objectives were in agreement with the view of other western countries and international orgaizations.

Anyway, this report is old news and irrelevant to Bobulinky's claims

I will stay here where my family has been since the late 1800's... welcome to Texas newcomer...

I will say then you are clueless as to what it means to be a Texan as there isn't a Texan that I know that supports today's Democratic Party,

Must be a liberal education system that created you, it was my forced contributions that you want to ignore but then again all money belongs to the gov't doesn't it?

You dont get out much. Lol

Nonsense.
What is nonsense are people like you who ignore how much of SS and Medicare was borrowed to fund things like the Vietnam War and never paid back. What is ignored by people like you are the tax that pays for SS and Medicare and how those tax dollars were abused. What is ignored by people like you is that what is nonsense is the belief that SS and Medicare were created to be funded by federal dollars.

You do not understand how social security works

For quite some time SS revenue was exceeding SS spending. That surplus was “borrowed“ (as is required by law) and is now being paid back (as is required by law).

Only ignorance could explain your not understanding that all federal programs are funded by federal dollars.

Where did I say that the funds weren't being repaid, they are being repaid with debt service, making payments is quite different than repaying for the borrowed funds.

They are being repaid now with debt service since your generation voted in nice fat taxpayer dollar benefits and are now happily lapping at that trough... The average SS and Medicare recipient will get 30% more than they EVER paid...

"Nominated."

Whenever conservatives want to defend the credibility of tabloids, they always go back to that one expose they got right in 2008. Meanwhile, the NYTimes got the Iraqi WMD article wrong, and conservatives haven't believed that paper since.

You guys are hilarious.

I am very tired of being lumped in with "you guys." I am not a guy, and I am not part of a group. As you already know very well, I object to killing the messenger...period. News is where you find it, a broken clock is correct twice a day, and on occasion tabloids do get it right. It's intellectual laziness to dismiss a source as "Oh, well, it's Mother Jones" and then not even read the claims, much less take the time to try to corroborate them.

Further, as a former journo myself, I gave up on the NY Times and cancelled my 'scrip only in 2004 because of its shameless and dishonest partisan support of John Kerry. If you choose to be lazy and indulge yourself in herd mentality, at least please don't lump me in with other "conservatives" because I am only one person, and my opinions are exclusively and uniquely mine.

What a dumbass statement! You seeking attention or are you really this poorly informed? How do you know what people who contributed to Medicare will get back and what about those contributing for decades and dying before collecting anything? The more I see from you the more I realize you are nothing more than a typical liberal that distorts where they really are from.

That, of course, ignores the effect of inflation and that anyone who dies before (without?) reaching Medicare/SS eligibility gets paid nothing.

My annuity is an annuity. I know how my compensation works. You apparently do not.

My pension is through Ohio Carpenters Pension Fund which is handled by Ohio Carpenters' Fringe Benefits Funds.
My annuity is through Ohio Carpenters' Annuity Plan which is handled by John Hancock.

If I do not know the difference, then neither do they. Maybe you should tell them how wrong they are, since you must be an expert.

ROFLMAO, worked 35 years in the private sector and know exactly where my pension comes from and the difference between a pension and 401k or other savings accounts. for years businesses created the following

They also have people supposedly teaching civics and economics, suggest you take both courses.

Actually, the studies do take all those into account...

The economists who create these studies teach those economics classes...

Those calculations are based on assumptions. Key assumptions include the number of current workers for the number of current retirees/disabled and the number of years that each retired/disabled person will be getting paid.
