Will he make it to November?

David Pargin had an astute point about cults and conspiracy theory groups:

"When creating a conspiracy theory (or a cult or hate group -- they all work the same), the belief system has to be so weird that it offends the sensibilities of outsiders. Have you ever felt your blood boiling when confronting a flat earther? Your rage was their reward and -- this is key -- increasing the collective rage toward their movement only boosts its power. This is why every lasting religion has extensive lore about its past persecution. 'They hate us because they know we're right!'"

It's astute when you realize how neatly this theory works as a common denominator for all hate/CT/cult groups. So it was useful that I read Pargin's piece before I saw a video clip of trump supporters asked what they thought about Dr. Fauci: "We don't believe him. We don't trust numbers."
In that video clip of trump supporters the supporters also called Fauci a liar. When the reporter followed up, that's when they said 'we don't trust the numbers.' Never once did they tell us how they come to those conclusions, which is the point. They don't need facts to support their beliefs -- and any shred of facts they find just is becomes confirmation bias.

It's like that with this thread. The OP has already concluded that Biden is mentally unfit and any shred of out-of-context videos just confirms that belief, that can never be shaken.

Lets face it: They are desperate. Biden is leading in 9 out of the 12 swing states and already has 222 electoral college votes pretty much locked in. Recent polls out of Georgia and Iowa, have Trump and Biden tied. We may very well see Biden winning all of the swing states. The latest stunt with Gingsburg doesn't help their cause.

Do you know where that video clip is? I can't find it anymore.

Oh please
Thank you for displaying your cognitive dissonance, whose main feature is dismissing facts you don't like, in favor of views that you hold dear.

This will just never, ever make sense to me, that Trump Cultists believe that when it comes to the brain departments, they have the winner at the Kentucky Derby.

You listen to Trump speak for more than about 2 minutes and you realize he’s ****ing mental... And he doesn’t understand anything complex.

And his supporters pretend that He’s the one with the brains between the two of them...
Yeah it makes no sense at all. Kinda like the photos of riots happening under Trumps presidency and claiming this is what will happen if Biden gets elected.
There is a real disconnect happening between trumpsters and reality

Primary elections and national elections are not the same thing. Just because somebody lost a primary does not mean they would have lost the national election.

In this particular case I think Sanders would likely beat Trump, but clearly the primaries indicated Sanders was not the candidate Democrats wanted to back. What that means in a national election is questionable since it could have some sit it out.

They know Trump is mentally toast. That’s *why* they keep pushing the “Is Hillary sick?” with Biden.

Debate will be one more disaster for Trump that they’re gonna have to scream about it being ‘rigged”.
It all depends upon the moderators being fair. I have my doubts about it but we'll see. So far, Biden has still not been fully challenged by interviews or questions. In the debates he won't have a teleprompter to back him up. However, the technology today does make earpieces almost invisible. He might cheat with one. :)

Define what a fair exchange with Donald Trump looks like, please.

A fair debate is one where the moderators put aside their political bias and treat each candidate equally. That involves asking them to support their positions on the issues without sugar coating it for either. Anyone who has a modicum of objectivity will be able to recognize when the moderator is letting their bias shine through. Do you disagree?

Well, the evidence are clear: Biden struggles.

The upcoming first presidential debate on the 29th of Sep will be revelation day for American voters!
They're saying "landslide's coming!"

There's not going to be a revelation during the debates. Trump and Biden are gaffe machines. They're both old and slow and senile. But Biden will still sound better and behave better and represent the overall Republic better. But pretty much a rock would do a better job than Trump, so it doesn't say much.

Possibly, but you didn’t answer my q. For instance: when Trump declares Joe Biden will abolish 2A. What should a moderator do with that statement? Is it “bias” to challenge the candidate on where that comes from?

Both candidates are pushing 80.
Biden is 4 years older than Trump, but he's in much better shape. He can also put together coherent sentences and easily sight read without mangling words with more than 2 syllables. The debates will make that clear.

Yes, and even now we have anti-trumpers still bleating out the same inane stupidity towards Trump. That failed to even come close to touching him years ago...

I guess the democrats know their audience as well.
Trumps an immoral fraudulent con man. Those are facts, not opinions. Not inane stupidity. Not even distant past. During his first term his immorality, his fraudulent Trump University and his Trump Foundation con were all exposed and still his fans support him.
My old Dad used to say I'd be known by the company I kept.

No, it's not. But he should equally challenge the opponent. The questions towards both should be equally challenging. Do you agree?

He will get some kind of shot of “uppers” and some brain food and he will do OK. If Trump is smart, he’ll let Joe wander off the reservation.

I mean, they'll have to come up with an excuse to skip the debates, right? No way in hell this guy can have a good showing in a debate when he can't even make it through a friendly interview with the aid of a teleprompter without screwing it up...
Trump is going to look so bad in the first debate he'll contrive a reason to cancel the next ones. Hell, he still might find a way to get out of the first one. Maybe he'll work that drug test angle- he's already laid the groundwork for it.

No, it's not. But he should equally challenge the opponent. The questions towards both should be equally challenging. Do you agree?

Sure but is your measure of “challenge” the level of confrontation generated? You already know Trump is going to fight with everybody over every word and you’re just gonna chalk it off to bias. If Joe doesn’t go to war every two seconds, you’re gonna insist he had softballs. You’re used to a candidate aggressively inviting problems.

Yes, yes he was. Look at this photo of the interview setup. He had a teleprompter feeding him his answers.

Trump has a teleprompter set up to feed him the answers, too. The difference is that Trump is too stupid to use it, so he gets every single fact wrong. At least Biden learned to read when when he was in school. We all have it on good authority from his staff, that Trump cannot read even a three lines in lieu of a presidential brief.

Stop worrying about mental decline and start thinking about the intellectual starting point for these two men. Biden went to law school. Trump had to get someone else to take his SATs for him. Reading a children's book upside down the way George W Bush did during 9/11 would be too arduous a task for Trump.

And by the way, Joe Biden is fine. He just gets caught in off moments once in a while. He is fine for hours on end. The mental decline is in the American people who elected Trump and the current American Republican Senators.

People pushing 80 should be ineligible. He's older than my grandfather.

So our choice is between a fit 77 year old and an obese 74 year old.
