Umm...the Wall Street Journal is pretty RW. I know they blasphemed, but really you are making yourself look stupid here.

Ummm...

No, they are not...and they haven't been for a long time.

Of the 20 major media outlets studied, 18 scored left of center, with CBS' "Evening News," The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times ranking second, third and fourth most liberal behind the news pages of The Wall Street Journal.

Media bias is real, finds UCLA political scientist | UCLA

You assume a Congress dominated by Trumpeteers. That's quite the assumption.

shrug...

Call it what you want. I know you will.

Myself...I'd call it a Congress dominated by politicians who are concerned about our security, economy and rule of law. You know...the opposite of our current President.

First things first in my book. A robust E-Verify system required of all employees nationwide. Make it mandatory.

Then adopt a policy stance to uphold all the provisions of the Illegal Immigration Reform Immigrant Responsibility Act 1996, which Clinton signed.

This includes cataclismic fines and penalities against all employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens. Penalties would include personal asset forfiture, piercing of the corporate viel, and madatory jail time.

By returning to a nation of laws, this will ensure only authorized people residing in the US will work, and those unauthorized will not.

Perhaps this could be part of an initial virtual wall.

sigh...

Yes. That's the process. Now...apply current political conditions to that.

Do the Republicans have enough control of the House and the Senate to override a veto?

No.

Does that mean Congress has the last word?

No.
Prior to now, you did not specify republicans - I was taking your meaning as the whole congress.
Beyond that, do you really think they'll "have enough control" after the next election to pass what trump wants? Even if all the republicans agree with him, which is extremely unlikely?

Hell, not all the democrats agree with Obama, or he would have been able to get more of the stuff he wanted through.

Oh, lordy...

1. Out of the last 8 years, Democrats have controlled Congress and the Presidency for 1 year. That's why they didn't get everything done that they wanted.

2. After 2010, the Republicans have controlled 1 or both parts of Congress...but they haven't had a veto-proof majority at all.

3. While the Democrats had the Senate and the Presidency, nothing got done. While the Republicans had the House and the Senate...but not the Presidency...nothing got done.

4. If Trump is President and the Republicans retain their control on the House and Senate...FINALLY!!...the Republicans can get stuff done. (if Congressional Republicans don't get stupid and oppose Trump)

5. And finally...if Hillary is President and the Democrats don't take control of the House and the Senate...nothing gets done.

Will Trump win? Will Hillary win? Hell, I don't know.

Will the Republicans retain control of Congress? Hell, I don't know.

Will the Democrats gain control of Congress? Hell, I don't know.

Yes....how dare anyone oppose Trump. Sounds like you're calling for entrenched partisan loyalty.

Wait, I thought that's exactly what you Trumpsters have been railing against?? Quite confusing....or perhaps....just perhaps....Trump is simply more of the same political hackery we've always known. Hmph.....hypocrites.

Wow!!

You sure do get excited and go off the deep end over a hypothetical scenario. I can imagine how you'll act when it actually happens!

LOL!!

Deep end?
I was simply pointing out an obvious contradiction for which you have no rational explanation. Typical.

Hyperbole deserves only derision.

Hyperbole? That's a pretty fancy word for your average Trump supporter. How did I exaggerate exactly?

And you still haven't addressed the obvious contradiction (or hypocrisy) in your post by the way.

Based on this I can only conclude that I should hope to hell if Trump gets elected the Republicans do not have control of congress.

And frankly, I'm not sure we'd be any better off the other way around.

There was no contradiction in my post. Your contention that there was is your hyperbole.

Your choice.

What would the "boarder patrol" do? Check where everyone is staying?

Really? You are incapable of remaining in context of what is being discussed even though a word was misspelled? Really?
Figures.

As usual you have no valid point of discussion to the topic.

Okay, so get back on topic. Tell us more about how Donald Trump can force a sovereign nation to pay for something he wants.

Ask questions if you don't understand or need knowledge.

I'm not your teacher.

Why are you still talking about me?

You are making the assertion that the United States has the authority to order the President of a sovereign nation to pay for something against their will. Please tell me, since you apparently know something nobody else knows, what grants this country that authority? I would think it would be quite simple for you to reference it.

As I understand, using the leverage of our $60 billion trade deficit with Mexico. He's repeated this over and over.

"order"???

Who said anything about "order the President of a...blah, blah, blah"?

We won't order Mexico to do anything. We WILL make it in their self-interest to pay for the wall.
