Will Harris hurt, help, or make no difference for Biden?

Harris will...

  • Total voters
    81
  • Poll closed .
Yes, and we can thank trump for that.

I honestly think it will be a landslide for Biden/Harris, but I wasn't sure I had as much optimism about Harris raising Obama levels of excitement.

It's a brilliant pick. A mixed race, moderate/progressive ticket running against two old, corrupt, racist, morons? Just the optics are a winner!

It's a historic pick. It will motivate the minority and progressive vote like no one has ever seen before.
:doh :boom
You think it'll motivate people more than Obama motivated them in 2008?
:applaud
Nice racist, slut-shaming post. You've outdone yourself!
Way to descend to that level.

Find me some group that is against Trump now that was not in 2016. It's not hard to find the opposite.

The opposition is static but Trump's camp has grown and they are angry about all the abuse.

Unsure I really like the choice, but at this point Biden could have picked a puppy dog as his running mate and still probably win.

Probably right!

Biden it always seemed to me has repeatedly gone after the sympathy vote for obvious reasons
but this selection settles it. Kamala Harris with that sickening chalk on the blackboard nasal voice,
and a laugh as distinctively repulsive as Hillary Clintons will give those sympathetic Biden hopefuls
more reason to pull the Biden lever in November & there are a lot of those voters who feel sorry for Joe.

Having one more 'cross to bare' picking Kamala may just be Joe's ticket to the White House considering
the unique way some people determine their choice for POTUS.

Do you realize how racist this post is?

We should vote for Biden because Harris isn't white? The optics are better?

There's nothing progressive about anarchy, socialism, and atheistic chaos.

We have a mixed race ticket as well. Trump is orange.

Wow, your opinion matters so much to me. Please, do tell me more!

Actually, the VP is often picked to bolster demographics where the presidential candidate is weak. JFK (Massachusetts) picked LBJ (Texas) and it made a huge difference. Kennedy lost the popular vote yet became president.

Harris is probably going to energize the black turnout in many key districts.

I've posted it several times. In 2016 i was in a family of 6 Trump voters. My family is now a group of 7 Biden voters thanks to older voters dying, younger voters reaching voting age, and 2 of the Trump voters that held their noses and voted for him last time, and won't this time. That is something I am seeing in leaps and bounds in my community... and considering my Community is in a State that matters... I think Trump is Toast.

Wait. So you aren't going to vote for trump if pence is still the VP? Your problem is with PENCE?

Actually Harris is a pretty strong choice.

But the main problem with this is Biden is picking her just because she's female and she's non-white. That's all there is to it and nobody can deny this fact.

Anybody can deny that opinion. trump gets away with his loathsome behavior because he's male and white. That's all there is to it and nobody can deny THIS fact.

I love it how some people think that white males should be the default setting.

After centuries of choosing only white males, was that discriminatory?

I think you need to be more worried about trump's mouth.

A whole lot of republicans are now against trump. Can you point to evidence that trump's camp "has grown?"

bear...

I would argue that it would hurt Biden. He's already a lackluster candidate that people aren't particularly enthused about. Now you bring on Kamala Harris who is known for her horrid legal record (arresting the parents of truant children) and it turns an already bad situation worse as many progressives are going to have a number of issues with her.

I would have preferred someone else. She comes off as a bitch.

I have no issue with him picking a black woman. I have issue with limiting the criteria when making a choice to those factors. If we are really going to make this a country where race and sex don't matter when it comes to making decisions, especially in jobs, then race and sex shouldn't matter in either direction. I do recognize it as a necessary evil to even the playing field up while those things do matter to a certain percentage of people who would consider either minorities or women to be inferior but we need to make sure we don't go too far either.

All indications are that Trump has lost support from both moderates and even some Republicans. On top of that, many Deomcrats are more fired up about simply getting him out of office since he has indicated more than once he is very anti-Dem.
