Will Harris hurt, help, or make no difference for Biden?

Harris will...

  • Total voters
    81
  • Poll closed .
I can't forgive Kamala Harris for attacking Joe Biden for opposing forced school busing. Since then she has said that, like Joe Biden, she thinks busing should be a local decision. If busing remains a local decision, decided by voters rather than judges, there will be no busing. I will never vote for Trump. This may be the first year since 1988 that I do not vote for president. My choice was Elizabeth Warren.
So, you're going to risk the chance that a deranged maniac that has taken a wrecking ball to the country, continue to occupy the WH?

Yeah, you sure should the Democratic party. They'll really bow down and appease you next time - if there's still a country then.

Id bet she is the POTUS before by early 2023.
One never knows.

But Biden's physical health is fine and I believe he can go the distance. Of course, at his age a health crisis can always occur, which is why a younger person as VP is smart.

i would have voted for him unless he picked a far right wing asshole, so this hasn't really changed anything where my vote is concerned. Harris seems fine. VP debates should be good.

Biden has made it official. His running mate will be Kamala Harris, unless she withdraws or gets "cancelled".

Do you think this pick will help him, hurt him, or make no difference in the electoral college?

Traditionally, Vice Presidents make no difference in the Electoral College. Some argue it'll make a big difference, seeing as how Biden will be 78 years old soon. If elected, he would be the oldest President of the all-time, beating Reagan's 77.

HELP - He's going to motivate black voters in the swing states and help beat Donald Trump.

HURT - Voters will be turned away, by her record as California Attorney General and/or so-called personality problems.

NO DIFFERENCE - It will not make a single difference.

I think what Bide did was to observe the first rule in picking a VP, do no harm. So now Biden can win California by 4 million votes instead of 3. That doesn't help him. She also doesn't help him in the midwest or the rust belt. New England was already his. Harris doesn't sway Hispanics to Biden's side either as in Arizona and Texas as a Senator Masto would have done.

But right now I don't think Biden needed someone to get him to 270, he has that at the moment. He needed someone who wouldn't jeopardize his chances getting to 270 which Harris doesn't. Biden is up by 6 in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan according to the latest RCP averages. He has a 4 point lead in Florida and a 2 point lead in both Arizona and North Carolina. All states Trump won in 2016. He just as to hang on to those leads and he waltzes. That may be easier said than done. But time will tell. Harris will do fine although I don't see her as a big help. Although Harris may be able to get out the black vote in Cleveland and the like in Ohio and also turn that state blue. Time will tell.

But for me, neither a help nor a hindrance.

Yeah...........other than every liberal on this forum who went after Donny boy and his affairs.

****ing hypocrites. :lamo

What I said.

Literally nobody cares. You don't care about affairs and I don't care about affairs.

Well, she's certain pro-law and order. She was a prosecutor for years before becoming California's attorney general.

The choice of Kamala Harris will give wavering Trump supporters a reason to vote for Trump, despite their doubts about him. I do not see how it will help Biden.

We already know why you don't like her.

So what does this make you?

First page of this thread and you are whining about her affair.

I supported the civil rights movement as a child, a teenager, and a young adult. Now I am disappointed with the black response to the opportunities that have been opened to them. Blacks complain as though they are discriminated against. They are discriminated in favor of with affirmative action policies.

That's my reading as well. I don't expect her to magically change the dynamic of the race. She is just a low-risk candidate and a wedge candidate between the progressive and the liberal side of the spectrum. Biden just needs somebody who is going to motivate black Americans in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania to vote Democrat.

biden and the DNC are trying to give back the white house with such a stupid, stupid selection
yes, some black voters who otherwise would have sat home will show up at the polls
but lots of other voters will be turned off by harris and will not show up
some independents may now get swayed to vote for tRump because of biden's VP choice

the RNC must have massive amounts of opposition research on harris. this was the VP selection they were hoping for
Tammy Duckworth was unassailable
Susan Rice is brilliant
so, that dope, biden had to make the weakest of all candidates his choice

if the RNC brightens up and runs Condi Rice instead of tRump, my vote will be with the republicans

weed dope do not confuse the two.jpg

She's gotta be one tough lady.

I mean, she had the guts to "bump uglies" with Willie Brown while he was married.

Technically he is still married . But they have been separated since the early 1980's.

Harris had her fling with him in the early 1990's.

Now.....do you want to really talk about affairs and "bumping uglies"? I mean it is also like you don't realize that Trump has has a slew of affairs and has cheated on all of his wives - including Melania. I mean going home to your wife after you have gone "bare back" with a porn star?

no big deal
it's not like melania was ever going to **** him again, anyway

Actually Harris is a pretty strong choice.

But the main problem with this is Biden is picking her just because she's female and she's non-white. That's all there is to it and nobody can deny this fact.

That's a very realistic way to look at it. I'd add Ohio to your list. It'll be interesting in a week or two to see if Biden has risen or fallen back in those states. Historically, Biden had 90% of the black even without Harris. So we may be talking turnout here.

Lemme guess... you white, eh?

You black? Seriously I really don't care, but in Biden's case it was all about picking a female and a person of color for VP, and very little else mattered. That makes him racist.

The VP under Biden is likely going to play a much larger "De Facto President" role than previous VP's, and is the obvious front-runner to lead the party when he rambles off into the sunset. Whoever it was was going to receive as much scrutiny as it was possible to give; I don't know how much more there really can be due to her "woman + black" status.

Trump just called her nasty 3 times in the press conference just now. Wanna seriously go there?

She could help get out the black vote.

We'll have to wait and see.

As I've said before, Biden isn't running to be President; he's running to be a placeholder.

No, I am not. But I do try as much as I can to feel empathy for other people. It does not take a brilliant mind to know that people in the US are not treated fairly because of how they look and their gender. It's just a fact. I have personally experienced misogyny so I have some first-hand knowledge there.
