Having spent a week or so insisting that, since the FBI investigation into Anita Hill's claims only took a few days, GOP concerns that they were merely attempting to delay were ridiculous, and insisting that what they really wanted was an FBI Investigation...

Will Democrats and Kavanaugh's accusers now attempt to push back, find ways to interfere with, and otherwise delay the investigation?

Your insistence on making this about Democratic consistency rather than Kalavanaugh's qualifications to be on the Supreme Court is weak.

Think of the phrase "by any means necessary" and you'll have your answer.

This is about you all being butthurt over President Trump's victory over your god-queen Clinton.

Kavanaugh's qualifications to be on the Supreme Court are impeccable. Sources on the left and the right submitted paeans to it prior to this sordid affair.

Can't help but notice you didn't vote. Trying to retain your flexibility by not staking out a position?

The apdst brothers. Expected.

I already voted in your other "let's change the conversation to democrats instead of whether Kavanaugh is suited to be on the Supreme Court" thread. I'm not going to vote in all of them.

And I've already highlighted his lies and atrocious behavior. If you can't see them when they're right in front of your face then that's on you.

its about having an unqualified rapist on the SC

I would certainly consider using force to attempt to disrobe a woman a disqualifier for the Supreme Court. So, if the allegations turned out to be true, I would argue that his qualifications are not impeccable. I also think that taking enough time to investigate thoroughly would be appropriate considering the seriousness of the allegation. Get it done in time that he can be voted on before the election, but don't create artificial time limits either.

And does any one else find it amusing that for 8 years republicans where in no hurry, and now they are?

If nothing is found, he will in all probability be confirmed. Possible Murkowski and Collins will vote no, but Manchin may vote yes
Thing is K made himself, his life lived much like a choir boy.

I don’t know but it certainly wouldn’t surprise me if the Dems try to delay. But unless next week reveals some huge game changer it should go to the floor for a vote.

The Dems may accept the results of the FBI investigation, but they won't stop trying to delay the confirmation vote. They will keep finding reasons, no matter how absurd, to push the vote closer and closer to the election...which is when they'll say they should not vote this close to the election.

I think the next tactic from democrats will be to bring up possibly misleading statements from earlier hearings and use that to try to stall. I'm not sure what they can really do about the investigation itself in terms of extending time.

When kavanaughs delay goes past 300 days like republicans did with garland let us know. Until then deal with it you con.

At least the Republicans were honest about what they were doing and why.

The Dems? No, they just keep making **** up while denying their attempts to delay.

Are you okay with the Dems being baldfaced liars?

You support the biggest liar in trump and the republicans and no they weren’t honest about what they were doing. So spare us your faux outrage con. Your comments are about as dishonest as they come.

You support obstruction all during obama years so reap what you sow.

No question about it. There is already talk if “artificial limits”.

If you think the Republicans were not honest about Garland, make your case.

My support of Trump is irrelevant to this discussion and is tantamount to you bringing up whataboutism, as is any opposition I had toward Obama. There is no place in my discussion for such things.

I did notice, however, that you didn't disagree with my contentions about the current Democrats and their attempts to delay Kavanaugh's confirmation.

This nonsense needs to stop. Things will be just as bad and probably worse if and when there is a Democrat President.

Keep running away from facts like the con you are. You don't want to bring your support of Trump up because he is the biggest liar of a president we have ever had and YOU support him. You reap what you sow con.

I'm asking YOU for the facts. Why aren't you providing them?

I think they will. The Democrats, headed by Schumer want to delay the vote until after the midterms. It's all purely political. There are five Democratic senators up for reelection this November from deep red states. A nay vote on Kavanaugh's confirmation could spell defeat for anyone of them or even all of them. The races are very tight. Tester, Montana, Heitkamp, North Dakota, Donnelly, Indiana, McCaskill, Missouri and Manchin, West Virgina are the one's I'm talking about.

A nay vote could very well induce those right and or Republican leaning independents whom voted for them and got them elected in the first place, vote against them this time dooming them to defeat. If any of the five vote yea on confirmation, it might make their smaller base in those states mad and also visit defeat on them.

The best political tactic is to delay the vote until after the midterm, so whichever way they vote won't harm their reelection chances. I firmly believe Schumer and company don't give a darn about Ford or the sexual charges, just using them for delay and more delay. All Schumer and the Democrats care about is those five seats.
